Announcing the winners of our Festive Flash Competition

Sorry for the delay on this one, folks. I always have the best intentions of keeping up with stories as they come out, but between work (yes, I have an actual job, lol) and Christmas etc, well, that didn't happen.

Anyway, thank you all for your patience. Some more gracious than others glares at Rachel.

I had a lot of fun reading these and there were some truly outstanding entries. So much so, that we actually had a top 15 that went to the judges, because the quality was so good. There were many more that just missed out, so thank you as always to everyone who entered. I love how the competitions encourage so many writers to get scribbling, and it's always delightful to see the different takes on the theme people come up with.

Without further ado though, the top award goes to WannabeWordsmith, with his sexy shaving story with a twist. Hot stuff, Mr WW, so well done to you on 1st place.

2nd place goes to Canada's favourite boytoy, Lyfbuz, with his deliciously hot illicit encounter on the train home.

And 3rd place goes to Ensorceled, with his delightfully sensual take on flashing.

I admit, I was chuckling when I saw who came fourth. So drumroll please...

In 4th place, and winner of lyfbuz carrying out sexual favours (to be arranged) for a week, we have RowanThorn, with his extremely hot take on a smoke break in the snow. Rowan, please, please, please report back after your special week together 🤭

Im glad to have gotten in the top entry list again! Given the word limit, I think I pulled it off rather well. I hope to place in the top list for the next one as well with a higher word count.

Ooo! I missed a bunch on this list! A lot to catch up on later! Great job everyone, and I’m proud to have scored a fourth while promoting unhealthy habits! 😜

Nope. Still not sunk in. Maybe it will tomorrow. The more stories I sat down and read in this fiercely contested competition, the more I felt my chances slipping away. I mean, Lyfbuz and Ensorceled absolutely nailed it. I laughed at the antics surrounding "Amy's Mom" and loved dronette56's take on flashing, and sprite's wacky goat, and people bonking wearing fairy lights, and was whisked away to many imaginative lands full of horny elves and Santas and Mrs Claus' and goodness know how many more well written stories. It's a wonder there was a shortlist of only 15 and I'm absolutely blown away to take 1st place.

Embarassingly, I haven't read some of the stories that made the shortlist so I'll try and make amends, plus catch up on some of the others I didn't reach.

Congratulations to my fellow podiumers, the remaining top 15, and everyone who set their imagination to 'fun and naughty' mode by entering. Lush comps always bring out the best in our talented community of writers here. Thanks to everyone who read, voted and commented on stories. And of course, behind the scenes, thank you to the judges, Jen and the moderators who kept up with the entries piling in daily on top of the already bulging moderation queue, and the team keeping the server plates spinning.

Congratulations to WannabeWordsmith for the first place win and to Ensorceled! Finding myself on the podium with these two gents is pretty cool, both are two of my favourite writers.

Not surprised there is a top 15, there were a LOT of outstanding stories so a big congrats to those rounding out the list and to everyone who entered. I read every story and like WannabeWordsmith had that same feeling of my chances slipping away as I read each entry. So many talented writers here!

I’m excited to learn that my story even placed! Honestly, I’m surprised it did so well, especially since flash fiction isn’t my usual style, but stepping outside my comfort zone ended up being such a rewarding experience.

A huge thanks to the admin and mod team for running the competition and taking the time to judge. It’s no small task, and I really appreciate the effort you put into making this happen. For anyone who’s on the fence about entering competitions like this—just do it. Even if it pushes you out of your usual style, it’s a chance to grow, learn, and share something unique with the world.

I did not expect the podium for this story - so many hot clever takes on this, and I didn't think mine had the heat to compete (good rhyme though!).

Congrats to the top ten too. It takes so much courage to put words on paper and let others read it, especially when it's something as personal as your sexual fantasies. So, congrats to everyone who entered.

in all seriousness, wow. some really amazing stories and thank god i wasn't a judge. sadly, LB is no longer going to be my secret discovery for insanely hot stories. now I'll have to share him with the rest of you. man! and of course Ensorcled and WW are always amazing. btw, verbs? Next time, you want to push yourself from 3rd to 1st? just add a goat. trust me on this

Congratulations all. What a great comp. I certainly had those 3 winners on my list as possible but there were so many options. And a top 15 is wow. That's a sure sign of the quality on show.

Such a crowded comp, with diverse entries that covered the full span of takes on the subject. There are fun, funny, fantastical, emotional and plain wicked tales. This is why I love competitions so much. Huge thanks to all who took the time to come up with an idea and cared to elaborate on and share it with all of us.
