The competition has had some extraordinary side dishes. For a giggle, I did an audio of me stumbling to read my daftness to send to a friend. There are plenty of surreal experiences to be had hereabouts, but hearing yourself utter those immortal words, 'double-ended fuckywuckydoodah' on an audio file, definitely made me feel glad I had a stab, as it were.!

Well, now that I am in the game, I will try to find the time to read, like, and comment on all the other entries. 🙄😳😊

I'm in. The MS Word word counter gave me a higher number that the Lush word counter. Weird. I snuck a couple words back in still and stayed under 1000 on the Lush counter.

It's literally my high school mall fantasy come to life.

Totally off topic, but here's an idea for a future competition. All entrants pick one of their old stories and submit it. Include only non series, non poetry and no previous competition entries. Word limit might apply. This would be a great way to get some of our older stuff read and since we don't have to write, we can concentrate on reading. The fun comes in choosing what to submit...

This was a fun contest, trying to get everything I wanted down on the page in just 1000 words was tough but I'm really happy with the result.

I have been enjoying reading the other submissions too, there are some really good ones.

I agree, too. I feel the ability to earn different LushStories badges is a big plus for this site. 😊 I always thought there should be a lot more badges than there are.

As some of you already know, I will read, like (unless it is, IMO, really poor), every competition entry. A few (who I think might be contenders) will even get a favourite box ticked. I have done this for the last 3 competitions.

I do it for two reasons.

One. To help encourage new authors who might only get a few likes and comments as they might get overlooked.

Two. To help myself improve as a writer. Reading different styles of writing and story ideas fuels my own.

Okay... there is a third one. Just for fun, I have my own private list of winners. 🙄😜🤣

Love this! Or maybe another symbol attached to stories once they achieve xxx comments (like how famous story symbol works). It’s hard to get a lot of comments, I think, even on comp entries. The badge might be easiest for developers. I think lots of writers love the badges on their profile page.
