Author's Notes

"This is a follow up to "His Language Has No Words""

A blackness shrouds my world.
Tears fall like raindrops in an eternal storm, unable to be dammed.
Shards of my devastated heart litter the ground;
useless splinters of the shattered future I had once seen in his magical vision.
My home is gone.

His eyes once beckoned me with light and love,
now they are silent.
Dark as a starless galaxy, cold and unwelcoming.
I search but find no present and no future.

The words from his lips strip me raw,
my soul torn to its most exposed bare fibers.
Where once he painted his masterpiece with every tender kiss,
now his mouth leaves behind only white,
Pale and void of all color, of all love, and of all passion.

Initially, his sounds fall on my unfamiliar ears.
For so long, we have not needed actual words.
But now, his new language destroys the love we had crafted.

“I have found another, and I love her completely.”

I gasp for air as this iceberg plunges sharp, ragged tentacles into my chest,
but find no relief as I descend into the cold, lonely darkness.
I drift aimless, the anchor of my guardian now ripped from its mooring.
As I succumb to the waves of my loss, a moment of realization.

His black eyes tell me this is the end.
His lips tell me he is not my home any longer.
His lack of touch tells me he is no longer my protector.
And his lack of smile tells me his love is gone.

This is the last he speaks to me.
