Nature abhors a vacuum
Yet this whole remained unfilled
Sapping the strength I muster
Testing the endurance of my will

A need long left unanswered
Reassurance continually sought
Persistent emptiness prevailed
In spite of all I had wrought

A certain caring unattended
In unintentional neglect
In opposition of the need
Love hoped it could correct

One heart found that heals
Calming turbulent seas
Her love is the warmth
Of summer’s gentle breeze

She is my guiding light
Shone by the moon at midnight
Her love providing strength
Soothing me through the night

In those moments that try me
When life begins to overwhelm
Her love rights this vessel
With steady hands upon the helm

This hollow now overflows
With her arms around my soul
She pours her love into my heart
With her I’ve become whole
