About

UK-based, and a real sucker for good writing, thrilling story-telling, and exhilarating poetry.
For anyone still loitering around and reading this, I'm easy-going and always willing to respond to an email, a question, or a friend request so if you want to drop by and say hi, feel free! I don't bite, and I really have no ulterior motives - I'm here for the stories and the conversation.

If I've still got your attention, I've never collaborated on writing with anyone - and having seen some of the efforts here on Lush, it's definitely something I'd like to try. So if you're interested, and you like my stories and want to give it a go, please drop me a line.

Interests
I enjoy good conversation and interesting people. And of course the usual - sports, reading, writing, cooking and spending too many hours link-surfing the interweb.

And these too, of course...

Favorite Books
Too many to name, but fiction-wise any of Phillip Kerr's "Bernie Gunther" series (hard-boiled neo-noir detective fiction set in Nazi-era Germany), or the "Inspector Montalbano" series by Andrea Camilleri (detective fiction set in Sicily). I've also recently got into Ariana Franklin's series "Mistress of the Art of Death" (crime fiction set in medieval England). Yup, there's a mystery / crime fiction pattern emerging here - but then my favourite comics as a kid were Tintin and Batman...

I'm also a huge fan of political or financial non-fiction, particularly relating to the 2008 economic crash - books like "Too Big to Fail", "The Big Short", "More Money than God" and "The Smartest Guys in the Room", and almost anything by historian Niall Ferguson.

Favorite Authors
James Ellroy, Elmore Leonard, Phillip Kerr, Andrea Camilleri, Ariana Franklin, Robert Harris, Terry Pratchett, to name but a few.

On the site, you'll find me reading browncoffee, littleduchess, PuddleDuck and Ping's work with a lot of enjoyment and enthusiasm. And they're just the tip of a very large iceberg of talented Lush writers....

Favorite Movies
My God, I love Hollywood! I can chat for hours about The Usual Suspects, Pulp Fiction, Heat, Blade Runner, Indiana Jones 1-3 (we won't talk about 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'...), or the Harold and Kumar series (you gotta have some fun!)

Favorite TV Shows
Again, too many to name them all - it seems recently that TV is rapidly replacing Hollywood as the writer's choice of media. But if I have to list some...

Game of Thrones, West World, Fortitude, The Santa Clarita Diet, Iron Fist, House of Cards, True Detective, The Man in the High Castle, and The Grand Tour. And Match of Day on rare occasions.

Favorite Music
Rap music - I grew up with it, and there's no going back now. I'll listen to anyone and anything from early NWA, Ice-Cube, Ice-T, Public Enemy, 2 Live Crew, KRS-ONE and Gang Starr, through to Wu-Tang, Dre, Snoop, Eminem, Aesop Rock, Cannibal Ox, El-P, Run the Jewels, Game, A$AP Rocky, Black Milk, Cool Kids, Allan Kingdom, Sir Michael Rocks, etc. etc....
