Is it possible to listen to audio stories on an iPad? I can't seem to get them to work?

After reading the threads I have two comments;
1) If true then eew
2) If not, then it sounds like a future Lush story

I'm on it.

Congranulations a to the top 3! Also thanks to everyone (including me!) who entered because without you there'd be no competition. I found it incredibly difficult keeping to the theme but this was my first go (I'm very new) and I'm sure I've learnt from the experience.

Looking forward to the next comp. Bring it on.

It's a toss-up between cowgirl and missionary. Leaning towards cowgirl, but I'd hate not being able to be pinned under a guy. I'd miss that.

For a lot of guys it's a toss-up!

Me sat up. Her on top of me facing me. Very intimate and easy access to breasts.

I like the idea of a third character sneaking in. Like, Hey, who the fuck are you!? I might try and write a story with only two and see what happens.

if that's happening to you, simply use the 'contat lush' feature and we'll look into the issue. simple as they. we do track scores here and seeing someone getting or giving a lot of low scores will send up red flags.

Ok. Thanks. I've had a couple of inexplicable low scores although I've now set it so that scores have to be accompanied by a comment. I'm happy to have feedback but I suspect some people actively seek out stories they know they won't like to score them lowly.

It epitomises my fantasy. And gives the reader a very good idea what to expect if they read one of my stories.

It's easy to see how they voted individually but not overall. So if you get a low vote and that users avg is low then it adds context. As is aid, some users just vote low persistently for some reason or another.
Advanced Wordsmith
Firstly Buz you're vote is not private. It's quite easy for an author to work out how you voted.

The question arose because I noticed someone had voted on my story and gave it a 1. All the other votes were 4 or 5. I thought ok, they didn't like the story. I checked their profile and looked at other stories they'd voted on. Practically every other story they voted on had a rouge outlier score of 1, presumably also from the same person.

There are a number of explanations 1) they are extremely demanding. 2) they are very poor at choosing which story to read 3) they are deliberately choosing to read and vote on stories they won't like 4) they are mendaciously voting low for some reason

I have also read many comments on stories in a particular genre from one member that are almost always negative. I question why he continues to read from this genre because he clearly doesn't like this kind of story and has some axe to grind.

From another point of view it would contextualise the voting if someone always gives 5's. A bit like at school where everyone gets a prize.

I have also posted it in the thread suggested.

Would it be possible to show the avg vote given by a member? This would be even better if it could be broken down by genre.

I'm quite new to this and have only written a few stories. I suppose I want readers to enjoy my stories and getting something out of it. If they want to wank off that's fine. If not, that's fine. If they want to use it to help develop their fantasies, that's fine. If they want to .... that's fine, you get my drift!

I know I enjoy wanking to the stories I read and to the ones I write. That probably explains why mine are relatively short!

Of course it is Chuck. I hate it when a great story I've enjoyed reading just doesn't get continued for some unknown reason.

I don't think it's as straightforward as it seems. For example, your most viewed chapter was not ch 1 but the only one that was in the 'first time' category. You must remember that a % of those that viewed ch1 didn't get past the 2nd paragraph. Either they clicked the link by accident or just quickly realised it wasn't for them. But I think you're conversion rate in ch6 would be much higher. Quality not quantity.

Further, why do you think the first three books in the Harry Potter series were relatively slim volumes whilst from book 4 onwards they were 700 page tomes?

Thanks for the advice and will definitely take it on board.

With regard to (2) you are judging that solely in quantity of views rather than quality. It certainly gives no impression of how many people read the story to completion. I would guess that although quantity declined the quality increased with each chapter because if you're reading ch 2, 3, 4 etc then you're clearly invested in the story. This assumes that the majority of people reading later chapters started from the beginning.

A little while back Facebook got into bother because it was claiming video viewings on the basis of a 3 second minimum. How do we know we don't face a similar situation? One way to tell would be the number of comments, votes etc on later chapters. Do these increase showing a higher quality of 'view'.

Of course, we all want lots of viewings but we also want people to read to the end and enjoy and come back for more. Chapters is a good way of doing that.

How about a forum dedicated to questions / issues with a moral dimension? I don't mean the morality of porn or erotica per se, that would be ridiculous. If you're here then it can only be assumed you find it acceptable. I mean moral issues within the genre. And I'm not talking bout being aggressive or judgmental, but a sincere airing of views and opinions on matters of interest. I'll give you an example.

I still come across not infrequent references, even in the mainstream media, to the 'schoolgirl' fantasy. Post Saville I find this particularly perplexing. With the news full of shocking stories about grooming and abuse how can a schoolgirl fantasy still be acceptable?

Whilst editing a story most of the paragraphs mysteriously disappeared. This happened as I saved my draft but I don't know how or why. Is there anything I can do to get them back without very laboriously editing them all back in.
