Rookie Scribe

Not gonna lie. I would fuck this thing.

I wouldn't ask it how it's day was though... Plus I'm sure cleaning and maintaining the thing is probably really annoying. And what it anyone ever saw it... Or like you die and your family finds it in your house lol

🤣 Imagine going to clear out dear departed Grandads house, to find this thing in his cupboard. Oh, dear.

So long as they'll keep their mouth shut about it. Causes issues in relationships if your partner finds out you fucked your best friend... once... 15 years ago.

Seriously though, I don't equate sex to anything more than a fun way to pass the time. I've got no problem fucking my friend/s provided both of us are single at the time.

I'm happy to let a random evening stay as just that. The friendship doesn't change dynamic to one of flirting, just picks up like it was before.

Why not, if you're both single and bored?

Hello everyone!

How do you get back into the swing of it after some time away from writing? I haven't written a thing in about eight years. Right now I'm having difficulty believing how easily the words used to flow onto the page.

I spent the better part of four hours yesterday on a warm-up piece. There was a time I'd throw out a quick 2,000-word action scene in about half-hour to warm up.

I'm currently staring at the fruits of my labour, which is a grand 413-word opening that is quite frankly utterly pants.

I lost my old hard drive with all my work a couple of years back to a technical problem and closed down my old account, so can't even go back and re-read my work.

Tip of the day guys: back up your work in more than one place.

How do you get back into the swing of it after taking time out?

With my short stories, I go towards action-driven work. I do shorts for a warm-up and rarely publish them anyway. It's highly unlikely that I will ever return to those characters. I just throw something together that starts off the process for me. The characters rarely get names and are often the beautiful people that readers tend not to connect with.

If it's something I will have multiple chapters in then I do build my characters up and get into their minds. I want the reader to connect with the people I am creating. I'll build them as relatable people with thoughts, feelings and motivations. I want people to become invested in my characters for more than just their sexual adventures. I flesh my characters out and will have chapters with very little sexual activity, that have the sole purpose of getting to know them.

Grammarly helps me with that. It not only gives you the edit but tells you why it needs to be changed. That allows me to learn exactly why what I've done is wrong and improve on it in the future.

I used to write a lot but gave it up eight years ago. Just getting started again.

Back then I had a friend that used to do my grammatical and continuity editing for me. She obviously knew I write and read all my work. She didn't however know my pseudo name, nor where I published.

A few other friends have known about it over the years. The occasional one might get one of my unpublished warm-up shorts if they really wanted to read my work.

If my employers connected me to this type of thing, it could jeopardize advancement in my career, so I tend to keep it fairly low profile. If I was in a career that it wouldn't matter, I wouldn't care who knew about it.
