Heath Ledger was deserving but if we are only talking recently I have to go with Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurth in the 2007 Coen brother violent crime drama "No Country for Old Men"..
Talking last half century or so - my first choice is Christopher Walken for his powerful performance as Nikonar "Nick" Nevotarevich in The Deer Hunter (1978)..
2nd choice: Jack Lemmon as Ens. Frank Thurlowe Pulver in 1956's Mister Roberts.
Chinatown - written by Robert Towne (won an Oscar for best writing, original screenplay)
Noah Cross: 'Course I'm respectable. I'm old. Politicians, ugly buildings, and whores all get respectable if they last long enough.
---------
Last line of the film is classic: Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown.
U2..The most important and influential band of the post-punk era, hard to accuse them of doing much wrong..
The Departed...A film that is funny, shocking and brutal, it's filled with brilliant performances, with some of best best actors in the business (including DiCaprio) sinking their teeth into a great screenplay (by Bill Monahan)..
290 please....Thanks SimplyJohn and congrats to the winners.
As already mentioned, everything in moderation..
Someone above said "especially pro porn since it has become gimmicky and disgusting.. Could not agree more. The only kind of porn that does anything for me is real amateur stuff..
