Love actually only for Keira Knightley. OMG, Keira Knightley isn't a name, it's a statement.

Die Hard because it just is, stop arguing.

Fun Fact: Both films starred Alan Rickman

I agree with Cum_Queen. I would add A Christmas Carol (1984 movie with George C. Scott as Scrooge). During the Christmas Season, I love watching A Charlie Brown Christmas too. I just love Christmas movies and TV shows at Christmas. Allows me, if only temporarily, the stresses of living in the world.

Bad Santa. The main character is so obviously based on Charles Bukowski.

Now that reminds me. I shall have to read some Bukowski again; must be twenty years since I last did, way before I started writing.

I feel an erotic homage coming on.

The Greatest Story Ever Told, It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas carol with Alastair Sim would be my favorite serious Christmas movies. For the more light hearted Christmas Vacation and the Home alone movies, as well as A Christmas Story.

I don't watch much now, but I have read about Infinity War, with a quest to kill half of all life in the universe. That is optimistic to me, since I expect our population to drop by much more than half over the next few centuries.

Or any movie about Krampus, the beast or demon with the job of hauling away misbehaving kids.

Around the winter solstice, poor rural families can assess how much money and food they have for the winter. If they have a surplus, then they can have a party. Kids who binge or waste threaten their families' survival. A movie about those calculations and what they do when they don't have enough would be more interesting than Santa, presents, the usual BS.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation would be my favourite if I had to pick just one.

Also love Elf, The Grinch, and my childhood classics Rudolph and Frosty.
Please read my naughty new Micro.

Hmm, there are Christmas films about Christmas and then films shown at Christmas.

I have a 1, 2, 3.

1. It's a Wonderful Life - it makes me cry and it's got James Stewart doing what he does best, act bloody well.
2. Die Hard - Why? Bruce is epic but Sargent R Powell and his path to redemption in a scene that never gets old - ever. Happy trails Hans.
3. Miracle on 34th Street. Either version, I don't care. I watched the newer one with my niece and nephews (who still believe in Father Christmas) Trust me, that is the magic of Christmas right there in their faces.

Films shown at Christmas that aren't 'Christmas'.

1. The Great Escape - it is a British tradition and based on a true story (with some liberties). Escape from a maximum security Nazi prisoner of war camp. Watching Steve McQueen ride a motorbike and the cast try to escape. Best played with a drinking game or two.
2. Amelie or Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain: My own pleasure alone. It's in French and I will not spoil it. The most uplifting film of all time, full of joy with a performance from Audrey Tautou that makes you fall in love with her.
3. Goldfinger - Sean Connery as James Bond with his Aston Martin, gadgets, and some of the best film quotes of all time. Not to forget a storming John Barry soundtrack that is best turned up loud.
