doctor seems to have decided on the white drip today... giggles
i just love my meds... ..

I'm a lover of reds...juicy Zinfandels, spicy Shiraz, velvety Merlot, in your face Cab....i could go on and on. Depending upon my mood and the dish the possibilities are endless.
I like a white now and then, but I'm a big fan of reds. You can always wake me up for a good glass of Bordeaux, Burgundy or Rioja
A little kindness can be so valuable, yet costs almost nothing

In many countries being gay is a crime, and even in modern societies, politicians try to legalise discrimination. Your voice can make a difference. Have a look at All Out to find out how.

Hey... pssst.... that's an l (as in luscious) at the end of my name, not an i
White wine, Red give me a hard, I mean a headache
I got a few bottles of wine for the weekend..friends coming over

You should first read this Looky Here!!

and then this Free stuff

then say 'Hi'
I've got to agree with the ladies above

Plum
Gewurtz

But I'll add some quality Ice Wine, not some of the shit that claims to be Ice

Oh, and Baby Duck - a fine sparkling wine from my teens

I generally prefer reds, except at Thanksgiving, when we eat turkey. My daughter is a wine wholesaler, so I get good wine advice.
yes!

ok, ok..I guess I would prefer red in order of:

Port (there is a winery here which produces without the brandy fortification and still at the 17% OMG!! Like freaking liquid crack!
Granache
Malbec

and with white:
Muscat Canelli (if it can be found)
Gewurtztraminer (do so love the sweet side of white)
Chardonay
NOT a fan of Pinot Grigio
The wine guy at Spec's Liquors suggested a Sicilian Red Nero D'Avola, which I will try out with lasagna in a few days. I generally prefer dry reds like Malbec and Merlot and he said it is right in my wheelhouse.
White

A very dry chardonnay
I like white, but I love red.

Red wine is best. A smooth shiraz or cabernet sauvignon would be my preference. If I run out of those, Merlot will do but I make sure to stock up on paracetamol for the morning after. If I accidentally drink all the red, a chilled dry white suffices beautifully, and sweet white hits the spot once I've polished off the good stuff. Bubbly wine has its place. I'm especially fond of vintage champagne, though consuming the whole bottle through a straw (like I do with red wine) isn't advisable. The hiccups can be terrible. Rose is perfectly palatable if I've gone and polished off all the red, white and champers and I find a beer refreshing once I've run out of rose. Spirits go down nicely once all the wine and beer have vanished, though Whiskey and Gin should never be mixed. Ever. If you run out of wine, beer and spirits, I find that turpentine can be quite lovely if carefully mixed with the right amount of fruit juice and not previously used to clean out your paintbrushes.
I NEVER drink Blue Nun.
Definitely Shiraz......but I also enjoy a white Rioja ?

You put ice in it, don't you? Come clean, how much ice do you put in it?
It all depends on the circumstances. With food, Cab Franc with beef, Sauvignon Blanc with chicken, Pinot with pork or lamb, Chardonnay with Lobster or clams, and a good Gewurztraminer with Thai. Just for giggles, conversation and no food, a good semi-dry Riesling works well.
Red. I am starting to explore the vast world of Italian red wines. Fascinating.
Give me a Cabernet. I prefer dry reds.
A red for me please... Cabs or merlots....

You must like Bordeaux/meritage then. If not, Try them, a cab/merlot lover would love them.

It doesn't have to say meritage or bordeaux by the way... Just inquire about the blend.
35 years ago, I found this great Italian restaurant in Houston where all of the waiters were Opera students from Italy. I discovered my all-time favorite red wine. It was from Ruffino and it was called Rosatello. I have tried and tried to find it since then, always without success. Eggplant parmigiana, great red wine and listening to Carmen performed live. What a night!
