Don't feel bad, Chuck. I love your writing. Many stories that are 'famous', I just can't seem to get into. Remember the Sturgeon Law: 90% of everything is crap! That goes for readers, too. Popular taste isn't something I aspire to please when I write, because popular taste is as mediocre as everything else in this world. I write for me. What happens after I publish is not something with which I concern myself, but I like to think that my readers (few as they are) are the best readers around.

I looked at my numbers of stories I've written... and of my 47 stories I have: 16 RRs and 1 Famous Story. The Famous Story did not earn an RR, and some of the RRs are nowhere near earning a Famous Story. Earning an RR is always a thrill for me. It never gets old. It tells me I did a good job with my story telling.

After four years of writing, I have seven "famous stories". One of the earliest of these, "Schoolgirl Dares with Sarah", is on nearly 75,000, so may make it to "legendary" eventually. I try and keep it on my front page, so casual passers-by might be tempted to try it.

Of the others, I'm kind of pleased that the one about wetting myself on a train is 30,000+. I really thought that would be a bit of a niche interest story, but obviously there are more pee perverts out there than I thought!

Hey, I'm a relatively new author. I can't expect a big readership until my folowers get past the 100 of present. Those that have earned that level, I applaud. I have zero jealousy for all the accomplished authors here. I'll just keep writing and approving.
