Kind of a specific question I know haha — but I was wondering if anyone here has had to undergo any sort of patdown/exam going through airport or customs and if so what that entailed. Was it professional or did you feel there were sexual overtones? For some reason I find that kind of unexpected invasive stuff interesting
Yes I have been searched at customs and patted down by both male and female workers. I didn't feel that it was at all sexual. Irritating and a bit degrading yes.
Quite a few times. But never body frisked.
I have bought souveneirs home and some other items which require inspection. Our customs are very strict. Shoes etc occasionally have to be inspected.
I insist upon a female inspector. The most interesting reaction is when she opens my toilet bag and finds my "toys". They are always discrete and never remove them to allow a public viewing - then I would complain. I often get a nice smile and have been told a couple of times - "enjoy". I return the smile - and I wonder what stories they can tell - I would not be the only one to carry them with me.
They asked if I had any pornography, and I said, "No, I don't even own a pornograph." It went over their heads.
I have been searched, frisked and stripped down. All three were "random" and none were to embarrassing. It was kinda cute to see the guys in the room stumble trying to be the searcher and the ladies being jealous cause of my body.
Yes. It's understandable. A little inconvenience for peace of mind. Not sexual. Very fast, professional and efficient.
Only had a pat down once. Was fairly quick, and professional.
Perhaps once but it was more of a skim-over in my lugguage.

However I did receive a letter from customs saying they had seized a mail-order copy of Cannibal Holocaust that I tried to get about 15 years ago.

never had such luck. x
Bisexual couple destined for filthiness.
yes the slut I went to Vegas with pissed off the customs guy and it was my luggage they tore apart
First customs/TSA two DIFFERENT groups TSA is SUPPOSED TO check everybody BUT being the money hungry vote whores that they are, our law makers have decided that the rich and richer don't need to be bothered with that like us mundane peasants. Anyway, as to customs yeah a couple of times. (I fit their "profile" for drug smugglers) the funny one was in Manila when a female officer wanted to disassemble my PRESSURIZED shaving cream can!
Had my bags searched by a nonfemine and yery unhappy women at wellington airport.she found 3 new womens toys id bought as a gift to mypartner.she opened the boxes up,took them out, and,ap she began removing batterys,i turned 1 on and she got a fright and yelled to put itdown.i said, they work well dont they?with that, she shoved my stuff back and told me to go.
I have been yes - sometimes a light pat down (no sexual overtones), but once in Chicago I had a more in depth one. Basically I was wearing this g-string with a metal/crystal heart that holds the strings together in the back. This beeped and while I explained it to them, they had to do a more thorough pat down. They gave me the option of going to a 'back room' or having it done in this taped off chair thing to the side that was slightly more private but not by much. It was just off to the right of the line of people coming through. I opted for the semi-public search because going to a back room would make me feel like a drug smuggler or something.

They called for a female guard and there was some winking, nodding and elbowing of each other by the other male workers as this female agent came up to me. She was young and attractive and looked a little flustered as she walked over. I felt like it was some big inside joke about girl on girl action among all the agents. It was just the vibe I got. A few of them stared and watched as though we were about to film a softcore porn or something.

The agent was very professional however - she swiped down the front of my jeans and down the back so she could see the metal heart thing. The rest was a thorough pat-down. She went under my shirt just under the wire of my bra, front and back. I didn't feel like it was anything sexual or inappropriate at all by her - more just the bystanders being entertained. I guess they don't get out much.
Yes. I've been through the pat-down thing a few times. There was nothing sexual and it was by a female every time. It was mostly irritating, but just one of those things. And it was very professional.

The thing I always get a kick out of is when they check my hair. I understand why they need to do it, but I always find it funny.

I have had my bags inspected the odd time by both Canadian and US customs. Nothing recently, though, and never a body search of any kind. Airport security has always been pretty routine for me, nothing beyond the usual X-rays and scanners.

I was 21 years I was not only examined but "caressed" by a woman in an airport and she was looking me in the eyes all the time, and the "twist" ending was between my legs. I blushed a lot.
I once got a thorough pat down at Newark airport, en route to San Fransisco. It made me thoroughly miserable, although it wasn't inappropriate in any way, it was just that I was incredibly tired and travelling alone... Other than that, I have never been searched or stopped. Maybe I have an honest face? smile
I have gone through the thorough pat-down quite a few times. From 2002-2004 I traveled a lot for my job and many of the times I wasn't sure how long I would be at a specific location. So I would often travel on a one-way ticket which is big red flag for the TSA. A couple times I actually had to remove clothing in a private room but it was always done professionally although a couple times during pat-downs I could hear some male agents laughing and making comments.

When traveling with round trip ticket I never had any issues.
Not myself, but crossing into Canada they checked the truck for anything out of the ordinary.

Nice one!
Bag search - yes
Pat down - yer
Strip search - no

However, I've been with a Customs Officer.
After a thorugh strip search I found his package, and it was worth it!
Almost every second month I've to travel so I'm now used to the inconvenience.
I like the way you make me feel even when I'm nowhere near...
Not in an airport, but driving across the US/Canada border I had my car searched for what turned out to be a plastic slurpee cup in the trunk (I guess it kind of looked like a bong to the border guard).

Don't believe everything that you read.

Since 2001, I've been asked to step aside for a pat down numerous times. I suppose I fit some sort of profile. I've tried different clothing ensembles and from fully suited to looking like a beach bum, I still get asked out of line about 75% of the time.

In 1993 I carried a large amount of cash on my person, in wallet, & in numerous pockets so as not to create any odd looking bulges. Fortunately, it was December and I was wearing a coat with interior pockets too. The only denomination was $100 Franklin's. There was no frisking then, but I did worry about being asked by some security to step into some office or other. I was flying out of an airport in Kansas City. While that seems like the middle of nowhere (and it generally is) that was also during the middle of the crack cocaine and burgeoning meth courier industry in the midwest of the USA.

I arrived about 30 minutes before my flight and tried to think of puppy dogs and kitty cats while standing in line and then relaxing in the boarding lounge so I wouldn't be seen sweating bullets. What do you tell some authority figure when they find 80K in hundred dollar bills on you?

"I'm going to Vegas, via Texas, because I couldn't get a non-stop flight." Probably not very believable. I took a chance and got through, but I was uncomfortably paranoid until I walked out of the Dallas airport. Driving then was out of the question as the major highway was also under threat of roadblock vehicle searches, at several interchanges.

I wouldn't carry more than a couple grand on myself in the last 16 years when flying. These fuckers will just take your cash, toss you in some airport holding room and totally jack your life up for as long as they can, and then confiscate your shit leaving you with little recourse to get anything back. If they wanted to be real pricks, they'd test your paper money and either accuse you of being a drug trafficker or mule and really screw your ass to a wall.

Best bet is to not attempt to sneak anything through those machines and hundreds of eyeballs that you don't want to embarrass you at the very least, or get your ass tossed in some cell for a damned long time.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
I've been on TSA Pre-check ever since an incident in my twenties when I went through the metal detectors forgetting that I had on a waist chain under all my clothes, so they took me aside and a female TSA officer practically stripped me before she found what was setting off the alarm. Totally embarrassing! I even had to explain to them what it was! They'd never seen one before.
Many years ago I was strip searched coming in to Heathrow, London from India. I'd spent 6 months there and Nepal, mostly walking in the Himalayas but also travelling around a bit. I was made to strip completely and made to bend over. Fortunately I didn't get the finger up the arse treatment but it was close. They completely trashed my luggage looking through it all. They found nothing. I asked them why they picked me but they are not obligated to tell you anything. Customs have more powers than the police who at least have to tell you why they have detained you. You may say they are just doing a job but they are despicable people to take such a job. They are the sort of people who would have happily staffed the concentration camps. Nothing remotely sexual in that experience just deeply humiliating and profoundly unjust .
