I notice lately a significant proportion of the people who comment on my stories are male and over 60.
Does anybody have a different commenting age group.
Hmm. Never really looked that closely at my commenters' profiles save the ones I know fairly well. I seem to get a fair mix of men and women on mine but no idea about age. Might vary with category, too. I suspect my gay stories would get more male eyes, for instance.
It would be virtually impossible to get an accurate assessment of the kinds of folks who score and comment on my stories. It is the simple truth that the majority of people who take the time to comment and vote don't give out their age. The majority don't. Only of few do so. I woud not really notice their ages anyway. It's not something I check on their profiles.

My comments seem to be split about evenly between men and women, maybe slightly tilted towards the men. This may be because I tend to write stories of < 2000 words, most well shy of that number. Quick, dirty and slutty. shrugging Maybe my writing is just good wank material.

As to age, of those commenters with whom I am familiar, age runs the gamut from 20's to 70's.

The majority that comment on mine are men, I would guess 35 to 55 range.
i am very popular among cats, canadian geese, and cheese graters.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I had to check when I saw this post Megan.

On my last story, the winter competition one, the comments break about 30 women and 25 men. Which is kind of what I expected from my past stories, more women commenting that men. And while I haven't done the analysis, I think the average age of the men would be higher that the women commenting. What I love most of all about the comments is that 80 percent of them are from writers whose work I have read.
