The Battle

The battle rages within,

Good against bad,

Right against wrong,

Need versus want,

Duty versus desire,

Can I versus you can not.

Is the cost too high?

Will she pay the price?

Be able to live with herself?

For which is worse,

Settling for what she knows,

Or a lifetime of wondering?

There's a choice to be made,

A leap to take,

A chance to see.

A hand reaches out,

And with a deep breath,

Her choice is made.

In the end,

The battle may be won, 

But the war has just begun.
