Thanks for that Alan, I understand and have taken it on board. It think four comps a year would be ideal. Christmas is a must. Somebody already had mentioned halloween, perhaps valentines for those romantically inclined and one half way through the year on a theme selected by the judges. Stanart.

I hadn'r realised that 2 months notice had been given. I had been away from the site for a little while, and 2 months is enough, Although writing a story in one night? Do they do a draft and think about it for awhile, making inprovments, honing it to sharpness. but that is by the way, my original request was for an expansion and more notice. Surely this would improve the quality of plot and characters. Best regards to all. Stanart.

Could a list of competions be issued at the start of the year to give writers more time to craft their story? Perhaps Christmas is the only time that competitions are run. Perhaps one for Valentines if it's not already part of the system. Cash prizes are not essential, the boost to the ego if you do well would be sufficent reward. I penned, 'Carol for Christmas' for the comp but must have forgot to tick the box, Oh well! Live and learn. Stanart.

I wen to preview to check my first story only to find that a large majority of the story is missing. I then deleted it and find that I have lost all that typing of the complete story including the draft. Where did I go wrong? Is there a limit to the lentgh of a story? I have sent a message to the help people but as yet I have not recieved a reply.
