Purebred southern gentleman, though a bit unconventional compared to the stereotype, with a strong but underutilized sense and appreciation of the sensual and erotic... so I try to get my pleasure where and when I can, but I can be a bit picky. I also have a huge appreciation for the written word in most forms - thus I am here - having just found Lush. Looking forward to reading lots of good stories and maybe penning a few myself since I have always fancied that I could be a writer of some merit. It also might be nice to get to know / meet some ladies in my area...

Interests
I have far too many interests to list because I have always had a profound and undying curiosity for... way too many things. (A touch of ADD complicates this trait sometimes to my detriment :-).

A quick list would include:

Literature as in classics, great crime / mystery / spy fiction, plus really good biography and memoirs. But whatever it is it HAS to be very well written or I gag and throw it away (I always have at least 1 book going).

Sports and outdoor activities: I'm a long-time surfer, fisherman, sailor, boater, beach and creek guy... most anything involving salt water is a joy to me. Most, if not all, life as we know it emerged from the oceans and I believe they remain the most fertile and important source of life and its sustenance on the planet.

Music - especially great live music. My taste ranges from blues and jazz to classical, indie/alt country, to classic and indie rock, and of course, seminal southern rock/jam (think Allman Bros Live at Fillmore East).

Good food, good wine, good liquor, and good company, not necessarily in that order.

Sex ! Haven't had this one in far too long. Still trying to navigate being single since my divorce... One of the reasons I'm here - hoping to meet some like-minded ladies to become friends with. I adore women and love their friendship, company and companionship which has been far too lacking in my life of late.

Jeez, there's SO many I'll have to fill in over time. A few of my recent favs: The Tiger; Gargoyle; Blood, Bones and Butter; The Glass Castle.

Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, Up in the Air, Good Will Hunting, Forest Gump... Shit - again too many to list at the moment

Favorite Music
Right now it would have to be the Tedeschi Trucks Band - incredibly talented and just out of this world live... Others would be Grace Potter and the Nocturnals (not a hotter, more talented woman in the music biz), Tift Merrit, so many - I LOVE good music of all kinds...
