Ahh, I see what's happened. Stories have a publication date and a "display date". Display dates of stories by the same author must be at least 24 hours apart.

So even though that story was published on the 20th (and would have been available to view via the member's profile), it would not have appeared on the front page of the site until the 22nd.

EDIT: In fact, it isn't on the front page yet, and only appears in the category page. It appears not to sync up properly, but that's pretty much what's going on.

This is why we encourage people to only make one submission per day.

As far as I can work out, the date shown is the date of submission, whereas they are ordered by date of verification (most recent at the top).

Most of the time these will be roughly the same, but it can vary depending on how many verifiers are working the queue at the same time and if there are issues with stories that need discussing.

Your story is in the queue. We've got a huge number of submissions at the moment, and lots of our volunteer moderators are very busy, so things might be a bit slower than you are used to.
