Wishing everyone a happy Saturday or Sunday as the case may be. Here's to you!

I would love a cold beer.

I was productive today and can take the rest of the night off. I've even given myself a pass on cooking.

For those finishing up a story I am jealous. I have four going right now. Two for here and two for the blue site. The sun was out with perfect temps and a bright blue sky. Kinda hard for me to write on days like this.

Gillian - welcome back home!
Hannah, have a great Sunday when you wake!
Milik - Enjoy the weekend with Simplicity.
Seeker - Don't let the bastards get you down
Kind of Heart - We are with you. Stay strong.
Tonya - Write your best
Laura - Good morning!
and Rump - you are a good man! Looking out for us and keeping us well hydrated (and sometimes inebriated)

Did I forget anyone?
I'll join you both in the Pint.

Good morning all. I wish I had something clever to say, but I need to wake up first.
A beer if I might, kind sir.

I like the idea of summer activities or colours, myself.

This weekend I am going to get into my shop (read as 'garage') and work on a piece of furniture I was building before I got cancer. It's time I finished it. But no sharp tools tonight, I need alcohol.
I believe my only phobia is Claustrophobia. You won't find me crawling through caves.
Corn chowder with black pepper whipped cream and a crostini with black forrest ham (sounds fancier than it is)

My plan for the Memorial day weekend was to write a sonnet for the occasion. I did that. I'm just waiting for it to be approved whenever a moderator appears on the scene over there on the blue site.

I had a PET scan done on Wednesday. It showed new nodes that may be cancerous in my chest. So, I've got that going for me.

Sorry I have not been around. I've had some things on my mind.

Might I have some sweet tea if available? Thanks, barkeep.

Well that truly sucks! I hope it is just a false read. Another friend with cancer kept having these. In his case, it was nothing.

Be strong and let us know if we can help or listen.

I'll start the weekend off with a Hannah please
I need that second cup of coffee today.

Congrats to Ms.Burquette on the Penguins' win.

Who has big plans for the long weekend in the U.S.?
Call me a silly romantic, but it is very important to me. The trust and intimacy is essential. Just listening to your lover's breath can be the best feeling in the world.

Maybe this is the litmus test. If you feel best in their arms, maybe they're the one...
I am joining Laura. Heading over to the "exercise" pole after I get a strong whiskey and a coffee. Caffeine and alcohol. What a delightful combination of experiences.

By the time you get to this point in the season, the superstitions are complex. I can either play on Lush or cook, otherwise they'll lose. If I'm in the kitchen when they score, I have to stay there until they score again. I have one shirt that has an acceptable luck aura, so I'm trying that this time instead of watching/cooking in the buff (That's been working but then it stopped!)

If you think I'm nuts, you should see what Sidney Crosby does. ;)

Burquette, Best wishes of your team. People in sports have odd superstitions. Other than soccer, if my team is in some sort of championship match, if I watch, they lose. Seems unfair.

When I played competitively, I saw a lot of weird shit by players.
Now that the coffee has kicked in, I am a bit more coherent.

Great to see you Gillian!. I see you added to the cocktail umbrella collection.

Punky, welcome and sorry about the day. Hope this one is better.

For all those hungry after last night's carousing, there are croisants in the back (okay, twist refridgerator biscuts cut into somewhat crescent shapes).

Hera, hope the day is great for you.
Coffee please.

Somehow after the third round of shots, I don't have any memories of last night.
Wow, I generally think of myself a reasonably well read person. But here, I get introduced to new author all the time. Admittedly, I have read primarily non-fiction for the last 15 or so years (with the odd novel thrown it). Thanks!

I'd love a beer, preferably a brown ale, but a beer nevertheless.

I have a few that i thought were good. Our Souls at night by Kent Haruf is quite good. Plainsong by Ken Haruf is an earlier work. It has a different form that will appeal to some. Burned Bridges of Ward Nebraska has its moments. Very funny in spots, not too serious. Somehow I got on a midwest phase (I think through a re-read of Willa Cather).

I'll read Chabon now
Rumpleforeskin, you are pretty lucid for one who has been up all night. Could I please get some of Bertha's finest?

I finally slept through the night. A first for a long time.

Happy birthday to Bob that nutty Nobel Prize winner. One of the finest lyricists of the last one hundred years.

Bonnie and Clyde / Nin and Miller good choices both.

I'll stir the pot with William and Mary. They shared ruling together when that just wasn't done. Or you might consider Mary and Percy Shelley who as legend holds consumated their relationship on her mother's grave
Beer me please.

Laura, thanks for explaining Netball.

Okay, to spice things up this time. Who is your favorite deceased couple in history and why?

Need not be man / woman. I am straight but not narrow.
I am said to be too intense. It can be exhausting to be around me. I scare people away.
Good morning all! Anyone up for some coffee?

I've got a busy Tuesday lined up.

What is netball? I've played and heard of a number of esoteric sports, but know nothing of netball.
Hi guys!

Let me have one of your finest cocktails.

Beautiful day here. Work wasn't even horrible for a change and I am taking the night off from cooking. Party on Garth!

Working an a story for this place and one for that other site. I promised not to publish anything here until the compilation I am working on is complete. Maybe I should write a story about Austin's Shiners Beer Garden though I was a bigger fan of Liberty Lunch to have the odd drink.

Futball (soccer) season is over except for a couple games. More time to write.
Good morning all.

I need a cup of coffee to be alive this morning...
I could use a cold beer. Shiner Please. My favorite beer when I lived in Austin.
Good morning, good afternoon, good evening all!

It is a beautiful day here. A perfect day for a picnic with my date.

I'd love a cup of coffee before I go.

I met the Finns at their record release party for Crowded House at the top of the Space Needle, lo these many moons ago. They are very talented.

Hey, Mr Hairdresser, I need a haircut, my hair comes down to my ass, which comes in handy when playing Damsel in distress, but it's a pain most other times.

Okay I am an idiot with a stupid double post...

I had my hair long when I played soccer in college. I used to have to braid it to play, practice or ride my motorcycle. I don't remember it as pain then. But it certainly is now. In your mouth when eating, tangled, sleeping hair attacks. When it rains, It becomes a big blonde afro.

As to the damsel in distress idea, I like it. I'll come slay the dragon.
I'd like a drink. Please make it a stiff one. I am procrastinating before starting dinner. I did write another story today. I need to run it by someone.

I cut my long hair off today. I had grown it since I was diagnosed with cancer 18 months ago. Even with trimming three inches of the chemo damaged ends off, it was down between my shoulder blades. It was really starting to bug me and formed a lasting reminder of something I would rather forget.

In any case, enough whining out of me. I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore without a big mop of blonde hair. I better help the fetching woman in the storeroom - wink, wink. I might get mistaken for someone new.
I'd like something light for a midday drink. How about a beer, please?
Absolutely. I have both been passed by and been dumped by women over my financial status.

I think it says more about them than me.

BC, who or what is 'Lahm' Your aging, clueless barkeep wants to know.

.

Phillip Lahm is a German futballer. He played for Bayern Munchen (Munich) and the German National Team. He was the captain of both squads. He was very versitle and could play many positions at a world class level. Being a defender, he is not known as well as strikers like Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, etc... He is very intelligent and is thought of as a coach on the field.

He is going out on top before his skills diminish.
