You know, I was just thinking, 'I've left something off my list of sexy accents. Oh of course, the bastard child mix of south african and kiwi - one of my favourites!'

Honest!

look at this gentleman! Thanks smile

If only someone said "oo I find the bastard child mix of south african and kiwi sooo sexy" I wouldn't be so self conscious ??

I'm a little bit obessed with flying and my mission is to see the world!

This thread is for like minded people. Post about your past adventures; where you went, what you did, who you saw, what you ate and maybe throw in a couple of pictures if you'd like.

Discuss places you'd like to go and get some handy dandy tips!

We are a big community of people all over the show so I'm there's someone that knows a friend of a friend that's been there and done that!

For my last trip I did Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.

Thailand was probably my favourite, the food, culture and beautiful islands just blew me away!

Bangkok is such a busy city, I pretty much got lost in my own thoughts, I did more shopping than I could carry without even feeling like I spent a lot of money. I now regret not doing Bangkok at the end because I spent soooo much money on extra baggage!

I stayed at Siam @ Siam which is a really funky hotel with awesome views and great food. Loved the decor too, it's very young and made me feel like I was in a vibrant city.

Lots of temples, I was templed out by the end of it. Deffo recommend a cycling tour of the city if its not too hot.

I wanted to go to the tiger temple but I've heard mixed reviews so skipped it. If anyone has been I'd love to hear about it!

Koh Samui was fantastic, met up with quite a few younger travellers and partied so hard I'm surprised my liver made the flight home. I did miss a lot of my last two nights because I was so hung over. Next time ill definitely plan my trip better because I missed the full moon party by a week! I was so gutted.

I was silly enough to take a really late flight into Phuket and had the worst experience with getting a transfer to the hotel, I pretty much thought my organs would be harvested that night! Next time ill make sure all transfers are booked for late night arrivals!

Phuket was stunning though, I'm glad I stayed in Patong, because that's really where everything is happening. Really cute night markets, awesome food but pretty shitty beaches so if that's what you're after go to Kata beach.

It was really emotional to see some of the places the tsunami hit and the damage that its left behind. We had a taxi driver take us around to some of places and his story nearly made me cry. I think everyone should make some time for the locals and hear their stories. People give the country culture and that's very important.

I went on a day trip to see all the little island, saw Phi Phi island and now whish I'd spent a night there too. Also got to go to James Bond island, felt quite sereal and got to see where they filmed the The Beach, Leo was so hot it that! Haha.

Be careful when you book your island trips, a lot of them are 'booze cruises' ...you do not want to be stuck on one of those...

Oh I stayed at the Banthai beach resort in a pool access room, LOVED having the pool right there on the doorstep!

I would definitely go back to Thailand, it's an amazing and beautiful country with gorgeous people.

Look forward to reading your diary,

It's a pity we can't re-attribute this thread to you Necho, sorry!

Unfortunately during the image server migrate, a few folders were lost, sorry for all the dead images.

We could lock this and start a new one if you'd like!

That's okay, we'll just keep this one going.

Ok the strangest place I ever ran across My "significant ex" was once when I went with My wife to her work. My ex-girlfriend had gotten a job there! LOL! Well she didn't last there long (the girlfriend) and since neither could stand the other it wasn't a big deal!

His character was very good and the voice suited the role... However, I would HATE it if he spoke like that forever. I watched lawless when it came out and his voice/accentin that was terribly annoying.
Active Ink Slinger
Really Kitanica? You liked his voice? I found it terrible, I'm not a Hardy voice fan unless its in his native accent.SOWCAN2B8cUtPIoH

I was having lunch with a friend today and we stumbled on the topic of where we have met our past partners and thought it would be something lushies would like to share smile

The strangest place for me had to be at the dentist. He was in the waiting room already as I stepped in, after some casual chatting as one does we took a bet on who would come out with the biggest bill... He chucked on that the winner had to buy dinner, sadly I lost after the dentist determined that it was my wisdom teeth giving problems.

I also met a guy at the airport. I mentioned where I worked during our conversation and about 2 or 3 weeks later he just turned up! He was quite lovely, shame his work took him to another country and I love it here too much to leave already! Haha

Sexy is when you wear a respectively short dress and look to die for in it, slutty is when you are wearing that same dress with about 7 tequila shots in you, bending over to 'pick something up' and another girl still in a respective state has to tell you to bend your knees...

I'm not arguing your point Kitanica, I think there is a lot of truth in it. I'm just adding that its part of their sacrifice for their career.

Hardy might not have needed all the extra muscle for Bane but it did help set the scene for the character. He did have to stand out next to the Bat suite after all.

When actors do this I see it as them going all out to make their art perfect. An actors art is to become someone else and have the viewer forget that they are watching a person pretend to be someone they aren't.

I see it like a sculptor slaving over a piece of marble for years.

A guitar player loosing pints off blood from their fingers from years and years of practice.

A skateboarder breaking bones to perfect his tricks.

A novelist shutting themselves off from everybody for years to write a masterpiece.

Johnny Knoxville getting hit in the balls with everything and the kitchen sink.

All these people care more about their artistic expression than their bodies and minds.

I totally agree, actors get paid millions of dollars to transform themselves for movies and it is their passion to do so. We all sacrifice a bit of ourselves for our jobs even if it is just our sanity.

Quote by Kitanica
Im not a fan, I find it unhealthy. doing a diet or packing on some muscle/bulk like Tom hardy I don't mind. I'd rather just have a naturally skinny actor play someone skinny, or a heavier actor play someone heavy than force it on people at the opposite end of the spectrum. Jonah hill got skinny and he's still not funny. They could have just found a funny guy in average shape.
Ultimately it's unnecessary, just a way to get big names into movies where they don't belong.

"Let's force this actor everyone knows to kill his or her body so we can cram them in and get more ticket sales."

more economics than art

Firstly; I think Tom Hardy packing on the kilos has pretty much handed him a golden career, I dont think he would have been anywhere now if he was still the same skinny dude he started out as. Sometimes you just have to be the hot guy that takes of your shirt all the time and get paid to do so... oh the horror.

Secondly; They are hardly forced to do so, they get paid millions and actors like Ms Theron and Swank could easily have passed on those rolls to someone else, but they didnt, they chose it.

I average about 7 or 8 cups a day, it is totally like a drug and affects my mood greatly if I don't have it. Even my sleeping patterns! When I try to cut down on coffee I replace it with food so not really worth the extra pounds to quit haha.

To be fair I do try and quit every so now and then however I have an extremely stressful job so when shit hits the fan I reach for the gift God gave me to sort it all out

I refuse to buy any food from China.

Example - the garlic I see in the shops here in Australia, originating from China, is bright white. It doesn't perish after 3 months in a cupboard. Garlic shouldn't be that colour nor last that long. .

I totally didn't know that until my flatmate's boyfriend told me I was eating chemical garlic, I was actually quite shocked! I thought they were just grown somewhere in the far south of NZ. Silly Me.

I must admit, in NZ they are rather anal about labelling everything and where it comes from so I would like to think we are safe if only I read the labels. What really worries me is all the stuff they put ON my fruit and veg, for example the stuff they wax cucumbers with can be really harmful in large quantities.I am definitely a pealer now.

For the most part I try and only eat in season to be a bit safer.

I'm all for ideas and creativity but I think completely taking it upon yourself to redecorate should be run past the boss a bit before posting it in the forum, maybe its just me, I find it disrespectful. I see the aim and the good, but come on, this is Nicola's brainchild, she's not daft.

I can assure you Nicola knows how to selectively and kindly tell people when they are overstepping the mark.

I think the banner is a good idea to bring back, I didn't know there was a competition on either and it just so happens that I'm in the market for new authors to follow so ill be making my way over there now.
Active Ink Slinger
I think I've been gone for about 3 years now, so to nosy around all my old favourite authors and read their new stories is really amazingsmile To see how they've grown as authors is pretty cute and makes me really happy to know they're still around too!

My present rule "If I lovit, can't live without it, buy it."

If wifey doesn't like spending time in the kitchen you shouldn't buy her something for the kitchen, you should just mention the fact that you expect the same from her smile
