I'm interested in writing erotic novels or novellas to publish on Amazon. I'll sell them for a buck or two. Any insight on how long they should be? I know no one's going to be looking for War and Peace, but it seems like they'll need some volume. Thanks

Hi, I'm Jack. I am naturally submissive though I have never been in a true d/s relationship ship I have always loved rough play.

What kind of story do you have in mind? She souns hot. What would be good besides being watched?

@Urbancoyote, good answer. Like asking mom for a new baby brother when you wanted a puppy. Good advice, all. It's weird how sex makes the world go round but it is so awkward for most people to talk about.

I'm curious how people here go about telling their partners what they want. When is it too soon to say, "So have you ever tried anal?" or "Do you find Muppets sexy?" Those are fairly extreme examples I know. When I was married neither of us were great about expressing our desires, even relatively tame ones, and I'm curious how others go about it.

I have a coworker who I'm kind of into and I think she might be into me. How do I clearly express this without making things awkward at work if she says "no", or if she says yes, for that matter? Is that even realistically possible? Thanks.

Here's a moment from earlier today at work:
I took a break from cleaning under the bottom shelf to listen to my coworker talk. She didn't have anything much to say and she wasn't much to look at, but anything is a good excuse to take a break from cleaning under a liquor store shelf. It felt like the grime and detritus of the place were soaking into my skin. I looked up and saw that she had taken her hair down to retie the knot she wore it in. I had never seen hair like that. I have always thought brown was an ugly color, the color of dirt and shit. But the brown of her hair was the brownest brown, with threads that caught the light and reflected it in a dozen different colors. I don't know the names of any of them, but they were all brown, all shades of my least favorite color made so beautiful. I wanted to touch that hair, to feel it slip through my fingers. Was it as silky as it looked? Would it smell as fine? I have no idea what she was talking about. I interrupted her to say, "You have beautiful hair." Then I apologized for interrupting and she tied it up in a knot on the back of her head and the moment ended. But I'll never look at her quite the same way again.UgjwbKscjow8Jnev

I agree that the measurements thing is annoying. Based on my experience, I never thought "Wow, she has DD breasts" when I was about to have sex. I think the one that annoys me most is when the author gives too much exposition. I want to feel like I know the characters and the stories are definitely hotter if each character has a personality and even a little backstory, but that does not mean I need their entire life story, especially not in the form of a long expositional narrative.

Orange County is about seventy miles northwest of New York City. I don't normally mention herpes to people I'm trying to hook up with. There is someone I work with who I could probably hook up with, but her situation is complicated and I'm worried that if anything happened between us then it would make working together awkward since I'm really not up for anything long term.

Thank you. That's very insightful. It hadn't really occurred to me that the exposition and intro aren't the same thing.

I'm fairly new to the site and to erotic writing in general. I was wondering what your are on how much introduction/exposition is appropriate for most stories. I've always had a tendency to cut to the chase in my writing to the point that the lack of character development weakens the story but at the same time, I don't think the average reader needs a character's whole life story in one of the pieces here. Thanks in advance.

Title says it all. I'm curious about where you all meet people for casual, intimate encounters.

So, I'm about to be single again after nearly ten years of marriage. I didn't date all that much when I was single and I know things have changed due to this thing called the internet. I'm not going to be rushing into anything serious anytime soon. I just want to hook up or have a casual relationship. Where's a good place to start? Anything in particular to avoid or watch out for (besides herpes)?
