However that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. I have had female partners that have literally soaked their panties in anticipation of sex. One girl in particular would have vaginal fluids running down her thighs when she got really aroused. For me I find this such a turn on but I can see that, out of ignorance, some people might find it weird.

I was under the impression that it was the opposite, that porn had led guys to think that any girl had to be sopping wet when aroused, that is what most porn always makes out. Not all men like porn, and until recent times it wasn't available in a lot of societies/communities. So I suspect that if a young gentleman found the chorus girl's bloomers were wet through, or the dairymaid's shift had a tell-tale wet patch, he might jump to the wrong conclusion.
