I always find bios hard to fill out! Why I'm here is mainly because I'm entering a stage in my life where I'm beginning to reflect on my experiences. I've had a pretty unusual private life and have kept much of it bottled up, shared only with those who were involved in it. I've recently discovered that writing about my experiences is cathartic, and I've been happy to discover a community of people who have been through similar things. At least in the early going, my stories will be based on actual experiences (edited and fictionalized, of course!).

Interests
I'm a naturally curious person, so I have a lot of different and widely unrelated interests. History is probably biggest interest, I'm near constantly reading a book or listening to a podcast about history.

Favorite Books
I'm an avid reader, it would be difficult to pick out just a few books. I the longest time I gravitated towards literary fiction, but for the last while I've been reading mostly biographies and non-fiction.

Dostoyevsky, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Erik Larson, Michael Lewis

Favorite Movies
Again, very difficult to pick out just a few..my tastes aren't unconventional, so the movies I like tend to show up on Oscar night.

Favorite TV Shows
Fargo, The Leftovers, Mr. Robot, The Wire

Favorite Music
Very diverse. I grew up on punk rock and hip-hop, as I begin to embrace middle-age my interests are softening...a bit!
