I enjoy excellence in the written word, going that extra inch or two, just to focus the narrative a little tighter. I enjoy witty repartee, well constructed works, and the conceit behind a good tale. I enjoy curious tales and clever stories. I enjoy great books and brilliant authors. I live near Roddy Doyle and often see him around the place. He loves to talk as we pass the time of day and he's a very clever and deeply thoughtful man.

As a nephew of two accomplished Irish artists and sculptors, I enjoy a day at a gallery or museum, wandering into and out of rooms full of history and genius. Indulging my interest in Seti 1 and Ramses 2, the Pharaohs, the Valley of the Kings, Ancient Egypt, Irish History and folklore, hoping to pass this on to my children that they will grasp it.

Music is always a part of my work and the list of favorites is way too long to list here. My Spotify annual report card varies wildly across genres and artists. From Opera to The Smiths and lots more in between.

I’m not such a movie or TV buff but I tend to enjoy clever well thought out and acted films and TV shows. Give me a good book any day of the week.

Favourite authors are Roddy Doyle, John Connolly, Michael Connelly, Tom Clancy, CJ Box, Robert Harris and Jack Portland, to name but a few. I enjoy historical fiction, mystery, espionage, detective and a good legal thriller.
