Stories such as this would probably be dealt with case by case, as they are so rare. It sounds almost passable but I think the moderating team would have to have a look at the actual story (once written). Characters engaging in sexual activity must have human sex organs and human features.

I swear I don't mean to be a hardass, but can I ask why? I mean, I know tentacles are allowed as long as it's not an actual octopus/squid having the sex, so why not, say, excess hair, pointy ears, and a knot on a werewolf?

This is pretty much what I had in mind for the werewolf:

Not this:

So would that be okay?

If yes, I'd still like to know why #2 wouldn't be allowed? Particularly if the werewolf could still think rationally and was only stuck in that form for whatever reason, and if the sex between the werewolf and his/her partner was entirely consensual. I mean, it's not exactly , y'know?

Once again, sorry for all the questions. I write a lot of hardcore -ish smut and my interests seem to straddle the IS-NOT-ALLOWED line quite a bit.

Ok. So if they were to come up with a safe word the sub in that scenario would be able to say "stop" or "no", right? Because I can't imagine any type of fantasy playing out where those words wouldn't be said at least once. So it's probably in my best interest to determine a safe word and just not use it.

Um, I also have a question regarding (I apologize if these questions are bothersome). I realize that it's a huge no-no at lush (understandably considering it's pretty much ), but I'm curious to know if sex between a human and a were-creature (ex: werewolf) would be acceptable? For example, the were-creature would be human-shaped but still have animal parts/features. Mentally, they'd be a mix of the two. Would that be OK?

Or if, say, a shape-shifter shifted into an animal but had the full mind of human and non-penetrative sex (on anyone's part) occurred (example: a human-turned-wolf licking in between a woman's legs, but that's it)-- would that type of story be rejected? I only ask because I'm also considering writing an Alpha/Beta/Omega story and that's something I'd like to include. In my head the wolf will interrupt a woman masturbating, curiously "taste" her, and then shift to human so the actual sex can happen. It'll be entirely consensual and the shape-shifter will, as I mentioned, have the mind of a human, even in (brief) animal form. So: yay or nay?

As far as licking goes, personally, I wouldn't have approved that when I was verifying stories - guess it would depend how it was written and on teh mod who verified it.

Sex would only be consensual if your shapeshifter was in human form at the time of actual penetration/intercourse...

One of my more experienced colleagues will correct me if I'm wrong, but that all sounds fine to me.

These are the guidelines we have:

During sexual activity or arousal, all characters must appear as human or humanoid. They need to have human sex organs and human features. Creatures that walk upright and appear as human are allowed. In addition, beings that are extremely hairy, with claw appendages, and a wolf-like face and can engage in a spoken conversation are allowed in stories. Fairies, fauns, and satyrs are permissible.

Does that help? I've not dealt with that many stories in the Supernatural category but I'm trying to answer your questions as best I can.

Please don't apologise. Contrary to popular belief, we don't like rejecting stories. If people know what's acceptable and what isn't before they post, it makes our job a whole lot easier. Therefore, I encourage people to ask questions, especially if the main goal of writing a particular story is to have it posted on Lush.

I quite agree with Clum, with just one addition, to my understanding the knot issue is unique to canines so if it can be left out of the story, I would advise not putting that part in. Pun not intended

Sorry, yeah. Like I said before, characters should have human sex organs. Totally blanked on that part; thanks, OWA.

I always appreciate a good pun! biggrin

Anyway, so tentacles is the only exception? Like, if I were to write a story about a were-octopus (which I totally, totally might now that I'm thinking about it (seriously, wtf is wrong with my brain)) whose lower body was that of an octopus', that would be allowed?

The whole knotting thing is one of the best aspects of werewolf smut, so I'm trying to understand why this in particular isn't allowed. (I was totally one of those annoying kids in class who was constantly asking "why", by the way. Apparently you just don't grow out of some things. Though, I'm pretty sure most of my teachers would be horrified if they knew where my curiosity lead to these days...and I'm digressing =p)

The naughty bits have to be humanoid, tentacles are an exception because. .. I'll have to find a certain mod who shall remain unnamed and ask her, she's our resident tentacle expert, so if you sent a story with tentacles in, we'd probably consult her.

The knots wouldn't be allowed because humans don't have knots, that's unique to canines. Also, real octopi/tentacles resembling octopus limbs aren't allowed because they have those sucker things which humans don't. Picture smooth and humanoid.

I can't believe I missed this. Thanks for the clarification! (Though I do have a further Q about 'additions' on the human appendage, which I mentioned below). And yes, it helps a lot, actually! Thanks so much for taking the time!

Once again, thanks so much. I'm only ever going to publish my original smut to Lush, so like you said, it's helpful to know what's exactly acceptable and what isn't before I start on a project. smile

Seriously, thank you (and everyone else who's contributed input) for answering my questions. It's really appreciated.

No. That's sex with an animal, albeit fictional, and is therefore not allowed.

Essentially, the guidelines that are set out are what have been agreed by the moderating team as what is acceptable, i.e., what is deemed appropriate for this site. Setting these boundaries prevents us from slipping into a site that just allows, well, anything. They help maintain a standard and an image that makes the site appeal to as wide an audience as possible.

These guidelines are reviewed from time to time, particularly when there is a demand for certain types of stories, e.g., tentacle stories.

I believe moderators are working to a more up-to-date version of the A to Z than what is posted publicly, so actually you haven't missed anything. I have requested that the two be brought in line with each other.

The guidelines state "A supernatural story featuring sex with plant tentacles or fantasy creatures would be ok", so I'm trying to determine what the cut-off is. I mean, how can you make a fantasy creature with tentacles completely humanoid? Another user suggested foregoing the suction cups, so if I were to create a character whose upper body was that of a human's and lower body had tentacles without the suction cups, that would be okay?

That's understandable. I mean, I don't necessarily agree with all of the guidelines, but then I don't exactly have to considering it's not my site and I'm not a mod. It's good to know that the rules are occasionally reviewed and open to (appropriate) changes, however. It shows that the mods at least acknowledge the interests of the users and care that their Lush experience is as satisfactory as possible.

*blushes* ok, apparently i'm the expert on tentacle sex, according to OWA, so here is my stance on it, and it's possibly in contradiction to all our other guidelines but, as she said, tentacle sex issues will probably be passed on to me.

obviously (or not) we do not allow sex with actual creatures, such as squid or octopi (insert joke for Clum about octopi having 3.14 tentacles).

that all said, a tentacle is not a sexual organ, so, if your were-creature/alien is sentient and has tentacles and uses them for sex, it's good - of course, we are going to insist that he is humanoid to a degree - in other words, he can't resemble an actual sea creature. obviously made up looking aliens, however, are welcome, as long as it's clear they are sentient beings and not animals.

as for plants; there are no real world laws restricting sex with plants, so supernatural plant sex stories are allowed. as always, feel free to PM me directly for clarification. Also, i would suggest doing it sooner rather than later, since i am constantly on the verge of being fired and posts like this certainly don't help my cause much.

PS: not sure why suction cups woudn't be ok in your example of being who is half man, half tentacle thingy. just make sure he has human like sentience and genitalia. smile

PSS: when we say fantasy creature, we are refering to sentient creatures, ie, dragons, fairies, centaurs, etc, unicorns are still a no-no, since they are really just horses with horns.

our guidelines are always evolving. since you're new, you haven't seen examples of that, but we rewrote the rules regarding supernatural sex not too long ago allowing for a lot of things that people were obviously interested in writing about. not so long ago they were much more restrictive. we really do respond, although it's never as fast as people want - a LOT of discussion goes on about rule changes before we make them, with all the mods giving their input before we finalize our decisions. after that, we simply enforce what has been decided as a team, trying to remain consistent.

as an aside, we respond better (and this is not aimed at you, Emerys, your queries have been great!) if people work with us instead of against us. sometimes we get rather angry PMs or blogs about not being allowed to write certain scenes, etc, and those, quite honestly, hurt people's causes more then help them. i'm much more willing to bring up a subject with the rest of the team if i get a polite note asking about it than i am if i get someone raging at me in PMs. and, as i said, sometimes it takes time - remember, all this stuff takes time from our primary job; getting people's stories posted on the front page as fast as possible and making sure they are of the highest quality.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Okay, I can solve all this.. Just put a human face on a dog body or make the plant have a human face with a real pee pee, could make for a hell of a funny story, not real sexy, but humans with dogs or creatures is kind of creepy anyway.. So that said anyone wanna come over for Ice Cream and watch a decent movie??
