I believe that naturalized US citizen means either born in the US or born elsewhere and having one or both parents being US citizens. That does not apply to Arnold as his parents were Austrian, neither being an American citizen. I should have made my post more detailed. He had to go through a naturalization process to become a US citizen.

Like Ted Cruze

Trump got elected for reasons that a Kanye West cannot stir up in the majority of Americans and Trump came along at the perfect time to be elected. So, I don't think Kanye West (or anyone like him) could win. I definitely wouldn't vote for him.

And no, I'm not a fan of Trump, I didn't vote for him, and I do hope he's a one-term president.

Kanye supports Trump. And Kanye is probably even much more rightwing than Trump, just as immature and brash, and not any smarter, so fuck, he might become president.

Kanye is quite possibly the least intelligent celebrity that I have ever seen.

Lots of celebs are dumb but the special thing about Kanye is... he actually thinks that he's smart.

Could he be president? No. Democrats are too smart to vote for him and Republicans are too racist.

The beautiful thing about America is that everyone has the ability to become president. The fact that a man with no prior political experience (and one who spent less on his campaign than his democratic opposition) has taken the highest office proves that point.
Can Kanye West be president? Absolutely! Will he? Extremely unlikely. An outsider taking over the highest position in the country will continue to be the usual exception to the rule, not the new normal.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

How is that different than any any nation in the developed western world?

What are you going to say next? "The beautiful thing about America is that we have free speech?"

I never identified any of that as being unique to America. But nice try.

Seriously? Well, okay...

Article Two, Clause Five of the US Constitution states No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States. Kanye West was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8, 1977 and has remained a citizen and resident of the United States ever since. As such, he CAN be president of the United States.

Some say that there are two additional, unofficial requirements in order to be eligible for office. The first is that one needs to have political experience and to have built-up a resume of positions leading up to the Oval Office. While there used to be no striking exception to this standard, as of November 9, 2016, it is evident that this is not a rigid expectation. The second is that one needs to be rich. I can't think of an example where someone won the presidency without substantial financial backing (although not always the one with the most backing) but seeing as Kanye West has a net worth estimated to be around $160 million with his wife's being $190 million and his sister-in-law's being in excess of $900 million (on track to be the youngest self-made billionaire), I think it's safe to say that he has that base covered.

The title of this thread is "If Trump can be President, can Kanye??" My simple answer: yes. My complex answer: yes but he won't. While Trump is an exception to 'unofficial rule number 1', that's what it will continue to be: an exception, not the new standard. The next person to occupy the White House will likely have the background and qualifications typical to the office of the president, things which Yeezy lacks.

I hope that clears things up for you.

Donald Trump and Kanye are both goobers. Trump's presidency is a failure and embarrassment before the world. Trump has been a total loser wimp in dealing with Putin.

Other than that, Trump has proven to be an egotistical narcissist, greatly overrated as a negotiator/deal maker, incompetent at managing his White House staff, and is not respected by America's own intelligence/spy organizations. Plus, may have committed felonious crimes, as his cohorts and close friends have done

Kanye West, whose views are similar to Trump's, is probably even more stupid than Trump.

Being legally eligible to hold office doesn't at all mean one has the ability to do the job.

Next time just admit that you hold the generic Americano-centric view of most uneducated Americans before posting.

Oh wait.... I just realized that this is the spa.

Sorry. Go ahead and continue posting overused colloquialisms.

I’m sorry that you have a chip on your shoulder that can only be alleviated by trying to instigate fights on internet forums. Please know that whatever demons you may be fighting, I am not them. I’ve seen coworkers and acquaintances who were prone to fits of anger and it’s ugly to witness. This can be a safe space if you need to talk about it.
