I feel like the "No" optional is overly confrontational.

I think it has been demonstrated that pretty much anyone can be president. If it is Kanye's dream, power to him.

Please no. Please elect someone sane and levelheaded, Americans. Kanye may be the former but has more than once demonstrated a lack of the latter. He is a good musician and producer and should stick to that.

(And remember, Kanye in the White House means a Kardashian as First Lady. *shudder*)

Let's hope not. I would vote for the Rock however.

I'd love a woman president, or another President of color and or a gay President.
Or a combo of all three!

Kanye is another HUGE narcissist. Hell no! lol

My cat could be as well. It goes to show people will vote for ANYBODY in now.

Could he become president? Of course he could.
Could he BE a president? I seriously doubt it and i don't think it'll be good for the US
A little kindness can be so valuable, yet costs almost nothing

In many countries being gay is a crime, and even in modern societies, politicians try to legalise discrimination. Your voice can make a difference. Have a look at All Out to find out how.

Hey... pssst.... that's an l (as in luscious) at the end of my name, not an i

Being president is easy. Being Kanye, that's difficult.

Don't believe everything that you read.

Noooooo...

But I would love him to run. That would be awesome.

Great for the Kardashians... a whole series on their run to the White House.

I remember Kanye showing up on my radar when he said said "George Bush doesn't like black people" after Katrina, and I thought "This is great." Then I looked up his speech and listened and thought "This is gibberish!"

I would not vote for Kanye, I don't care for him. Give me the Rock any day.

My question asked 'can he?' Not 'do you want him to be'? Please stick to the question in hand and vote accordingly. Your personal wishes are irrelevant (unless you choose the Tay Tay option).

I picked Ms. Swift.

However, yes. He's 40 and American. He could be president.

Maybe we shouldn't be trying to elect people who we often see on the movie screens or tv sets to one of the most influential political offices in the world? Remember, that shit isn't real, it's all rehearsed, chopped up, edited to make that person either appealing or humorous or somehow admirable.

I can remember worrying about Arnold Schwarzenegger attempting to campaign for President. With the election of the current reality tv personality, I'm thinking Arnold would not have been so bad after all. Arnold had/has a massive ego, but he also seems to be much more intelligent and self aware. The only people Arnold ever really conned were those who become sexually and emotionally intimate with him.

Then again - we had to suffer 8 years of a b-list hollywood actor who consulted with astrologists, ignored the AIDs epidemic, initiated the gutting of our once prosperous middle class economy, raced up our national debt 3 fold within 2 terms and arguably oversaw the most corrupt presidential administration of the last century, and we're still paying for all the damage he unleashed upon America.

We should adopt the infamous line attributed to his wife.

Just Say No (to media personalities).

I vote for Tay-Tay. 6 months in she will break up with America and write a song about us. It will zoom to the top of the charts.

Let's face the truth: we vote for the president based on his/her personality. That has been true since the dawn of the television era. With each and every election, we've lowered the bar of qualification to the point where celebrities now have a legitimate chance to become president.

Given the lack of "bench strength", youth, and dynamic personality on the Democratic side, it would shock me if they DON'T nominate a celebrity as their 2020 candidate. With nearly all of Hollywood identifying with the far-left of the party, they have plenty of candidates from which to choose.

Kanye and Kim in the White House would be the ultimate expression of celebrity driven culture. That said, it is a very bad idea. Assuming the US and the world survives Trump, I hope that nothing like this happens again, whatever the party affiliation of the celebrity.

@WMM Arnold couldn't run even if he wanted to because he was born in Austria.

I totally took the Tay-Tay option becasue I'd vote for her before I'd ever vote for him.

Could he become President? Well, so long as he meets the requirements laid out by the Constitution, then yes, he could... and I do believe he is qualified in that aspect... any other "qualifications" are at best questionable.

It's not because he was born in Austria, it's because he's NOT a naturalized US citizen. I was born in Japan, but I am a Natural US citizen due to my parents being US citizens. However, I will not run simply because.

I believe that naturalized US citizen means either born in the US or born elsewhere and having one or both parents being US citizens. That does not apply to Arnold as his parents were Austrian, neither being an American citizen. I should have made my post more detailed. He had to go through a naturalization process to become a US citizen.

Because you're too good of a person and you know there is more to being POTUS than what we see on the media.

Of course Kanye can be President. I would hear him out and not judge him on his lifestyle and history of walking off stage, ranting on Twitter and having nervous breakdowns.

Something I read years ago:

Harry Truman showed us any man can be elected President.

Franklin Roosevelt showed us a man can overcome any obstacle to be elected President.

Dwight Eisenhower showed us we don't really need a President.

Richard Nixon showed us that might not be such a bad idea.
The people of The United States want socialism. The people of Venezuela want toilet paper.
A recent article in "The Miami Herald" reveals that the food shortages caused by the economic collapse in Venezuela have had at least one positive side effect. Whereas before Venezuelans were having problems being overrun by herds of wild burros (donkeys), they've solved the problem by eating them. Now they have no burros or toilet paper.

There was plenty of talk in 2003 and 2004, and even a proposed Hatch amendment seeking a work-around which would allow Schwarzenegger the opportunity to campaign and run for that office in the then immediate future.

That's what I was referring to.

Once again, Republicans, not satisfied with gerrymandering voting districts, but actively seeking to make changes to the Constitution for their own specific desires. The hell with Article 2, Section 1 according to the sitting Senator from Utah.
