As far as anyone noteworthy is concerned, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Lucinda Williams, Everclear, The Mountain Goats. Others too, but those are probably the biggest names.

The Mountain Goats... a big name! lol never heard of them.

No, no. There's a reason I put them at the bottom of the list. They have something of a following, but not much, I suppose.

I've seen quite a few but only stood all the way through for one. Elvis Presley. It was about a year before he died and he looked like hell but his voice was still exceptional.

Edited 8/26/19 - Added maybe 7, including the Chieftans and the Stones. How did I forget the Stones in the Park?

Edited 9/30/19 - I was looking for the original version of Spooky, which reminded me of Spooky Tooth.

Looks like we're in for a nasty spell of wether.

My God, Grace! Some memory you have there. Some of the bands on that list I have seen too and had forgotten even existed.

I saw Aynsley Dunbar's Retaliation in 1971, the back room of a small hotel in a North West U.K. town. I remember the occasion because they must be the most tedious band I have ever watched. Perhaps me not knowing their stuff didn't help their cause.

I'll always have soft spot for Blodwyn Pig, if only for their ridiculous first album cover.

Many of the entries are from setlists for the festivals I attended, like Isle of Wight 1969 and 1970. I have updated the list since finding some partial setlists for Midnight Court.

Of course, there are some bands I will never forget, like Edgar Broughton Band, who used to play often at Midnight Court. Several of us used to walk across the West End to Hyde Park, where we would sit under the trees and smoke a few spliffs. Sombody joined us and asked who had played. Bob mentioned Edgar Broughton Band and the other guy asked "Did they play 'Out, Demons, Out'?" "Half a fucking hour," said Bob.

Looks like we're in for a nasty spell of wether.

Edgar Broughton's "Out Demons out". Yea. Great track for fifteen-year-old boys to sing along to. (sorry for the preposition at the end there, but how else can you say it? )

Do you remember a band called Black Widow from about the same time? They used to perform black magic rites on stage. They got a lot of flack at the time — endangering the souls of their audiences, would you believe. Pretty dire music.

Probably going down great guns with the present folk horror revival peeps — Wicker Man, Blood on THe Devil's Claw, Witchfinder-General, and all that.

So you are what, four years younger than me?

I remember this song. Don't have to play it.

"Come, come, come to the Sabat. Come to the Sabat, Satan's there."

I was not impressed, even though it left an impression on me.

Looks like we're in for a nasty spell of wether.

Spot on.

I only mention the Black Widow number because the memory came back when I thought of Edgar Broughton's little crowd pleaser.. I hadn't heard the track since 1970! It has not aged as well as us two.

Wow Grace, oh my God, no post has impressed me more on Lush. The history of music, well modern it is better to say. One day we must chat, I would love to hear what the older stuff was like. Beatles, Dylan, Doors, Van Morrison, Who etc

Do check out my latest story:

Unleashed competition: Bull Shite, Bull Dykes, Bull Fights: That’s Your Everyday D/s Love Story. | Lush Stories

And my other stories, including 5 EPs, 22 RR's, and 15 competition top 10's including my pride competition winner: On Oxford Street, This Gay Girl Found Pride While Playing With Balls

We Are Scientists, Controller.Controller, Death From Above 1979, Bayside, Alkaline Trio, Enter Shikari (when they were just a band on myspace.) Lost Ash. Was meant to see Deftones but I ended up not going last minute due to something important coming up. I usually support my friend's bands who have ended up doing some relatively big festivals.

I have been to the Newport Jazz and Folk Festivals for decades. I have gone to Tanglewood at least once every year. I have seen virtually every ballet, and opera played often enough for one to experience. In more popular music-----I need to stop.
There isn't a day that goes by where I am not at a concert, watching a concert, giving a performance, or dancing in many, many moons lol.
Yet there is always someone I want to see, hear, dance with, sing with.....
