Big snowfall here, had to cancel my eye doc appointment. My big chore for the day will be shoveling the driveway. Still, should be a cozy day, snuggled together indoors.
A coffee please. Hope everyone is doing well. Go Team Bleu!
Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit) Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex) Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)
Not much happening here. Getting some snow, but not as bad as it sounds out Jeff's way. Plugging away at my mirror story but it is becoming a longer term project.
A glass of red wine please, so I can toast the birthday girl.
A woman goes shopping in the local mall. But what the heck is she shopping for in that outfit? My Festive Flash comp entry.

Anyone else? Belly up to the bar, boys and girls!

Well, that's nothing a little caffeine can't help…
Lights are on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re about as good as we're going to get.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Darjeeling teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is waiting to serve.
Today we're using Gothrider Gasoline Coffee – to "Ignite your soul!"
Whatever that means.
There are donuts.
Plus I've got some more bear claws (as in the pastry) for y'all
Take care out there, 'K?

Pretty quiet in here. I dropped in for a shot of bourbon, with a purple gummie dissolving lazily in the bottom of the shot glass like a sunlit daydream.

That's got to be one of the most poetic drink orders I have ever heard. You must be a writer or something. 😊
Good evening. Snow seems to have let up. Only had my shovels out twice today but the first time was brutal. Probably a foot and a half of the white to put it in American terms. They said we would have more snow this winter after a relatively dry one a year ago and, so far, they seem to be right. Though we did go through a run of warmer, wetter weather at the end of last year.
I just listened to some Finnish folk metal so a tankard of ale seems appropriate.

How does something dissolve "lazily"? The World Wonders…and I wonder if the moderators would, too!
Still, don't miss your shot!

I just got in a new batch of Ox horn tankards, so – here you go.

Unusual fact South Australia (where Piquet lives) is 30 minutes behind the four East Coast States (New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania.) It was one an hour behind and some business people wanted Adelaide to be on EST and 30 minutes was a compromise.

going to try really hard to be there. is there going to be coffee, though?
I'm trying to open the bar while participating in Annie and Pete's "Meet the Author" convo…so if I spill a few things, tough luck!
Lights on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re ready to go.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Earl Grey available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.
Today we're using Folgers, because it's quick and easy, and because I don't drink the stuff.
I've put out donuts.
Plus I've got some chocolate biscotti for y'all.
Take care out there, 'K?

OK, the conversation is done, and was fun, although I think I tripped over a few people. One of these days I'm gonna have to learn how to do chat rooms.
Meanwhile,

Did someone request rock and or roll?

This is a band I think I could enjoy listening to, especially as they seem to be enjoying themselves.

Unfortunately, this video doesn't play in Canada – probably a copyright issue.
Oh, well. Once Canada's part of the US, that will all go away…
NO FUCKING WAY!
Monroe tried it in 1812.
Didn't go well.
The British burned Washington in retaliation for America trying to capture York (now Toronto), which is why "The Executive Mansion" became "The White House" – they had to paint it white to cover the scorch marks.

Who had Land War in North America on their apocalypse bingo card?
Morning all. Windy as the dickens out. I enjoy hearing the wind howling as I write. Trying (unsuccessfully) to match Carton’s 10,000 words a week. I might break 6000 this week with a running start.
Coffee would be swell. I hope the Annie/Piquet writers thing went well. Two fine writers. I swear Annie is channeling James Joyce sometimes.

I enjoyed it. Too short though. Would have loved to just sit down over coffee and chat about writing for a few hours. Need a round table chat like that with about 6 of us...
You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

The Warning are absolutely f-ing amazing. Three sisters from Mexico who have been playing together since they were kids. Their latest album (they have 4 studio albums already and the eldest sister is only 24) came out almost a year ago and kicked serious ass.

I’ve been playing host to my sister, but she returned back home this morning. After a day of meetings, I’m sitting down to relax a little before going to bed early. My sinus surgery is tomorrow bright at early. 7:30 am!
Hopefully this will finally solve my issues with chronic sinusitis. Fingers crossed!
We'll start with caffeine, then we'll move on to other drugs.

Today we're using Folgers Black Silk, because it sounds so purdy.
And speaking of Purdy – PurdyPeaches and I have tied one on…in the MILK category. Find it here:
Now, what else shall we make available to amuse the masses?
Well, there's that young lady named Lois who was admiring herself in the mirror in Stall Three …until Lady Dryad shooed her out. She's VERY available.
And we have Kat's favourite buttercream donuts – because Kat's undergoing sinus surgery this morning in about an hour from now (~7:30 EST) – and we all know that calories don't count when you've been sedated, right?
Then let's move onto something, you know, harder.
Yes, well THAT too, but I was thinking of tequila.
Maybe even a Tequila Sunrise or three…
And let's hit the Würlitzer with some quarters and play … Dan + Shay with … Tequila …
