On CNN News, this afternoon, was the age of consensual sex in Georgia. It seems that a high school teacher was arrested for having sex with a 16yo girl from his class. She says it was with her consent. A little known law, on the Georgia books, states that a girl 16yo girl may have consensual sex with anybody she wants. The news in an uproar. Personally, I think that age is just fine, and should be nation wide.... COMMENTS?
I think this is in the wrong section of the forum.

En vis mann slår aldri en hund i klubben med en stokk, fordi hunden vil vende rundt og biter mannens ballene av. I think back to when I was sixteen, and remember thinking I knew what was best. I must admit I had seduced teachers and older men, while still in high school and junior school. At 6'1 since I was about nine, does do some strange things to you when people never beleived when I stated my age. Looking back on it all now, I knew practically nothing then. I wish I waited to let my emotional maturity catch up to where my body was.
Now, as a former high school teacher, I have seen the outrage from other students, and the favoritism that a teacher shows to a student they are sexually interested in. And it is much worse at the university I teach at. Students arrive on my door step, offering me sex in return for higher grades or a letter of recommendations, only to get my door smacking them on the nose as I slam it shut. I firmly beleive that students and teachers are not a good mix. (Fun to read about sure!) A person in a position of authority, should not give into their desires, consensual or otherwise with the one that they are responsible for.
There are reasons why their are rules against doctors and patients, ranking officers and junior officers etc... and as much as I may not like them, I can understand why they are in place.
I have to make my first serious post taking the high road here, and say, the teacher should not have been arrested, but should loose his job with the school, and on his permanent employee record with the State Board not mention her age, but that he had sex with a student.
I will not even allow myself to be friends with my university students for this very reason. Now, co-workers at the same level as me? Is another story all together!!!
Living life and enjoying life are two different things... just need to figure out how to do both at the same time to live it right!
Woman... GO FLY A KITE!!!!! Take a slideshow walk with me on a walk through the parks of Inner Mongolia, China. Then enjoy the tale of a very traditional day in the life of a white Woman in China. Curious question for you Woman, what about students at the university who are not in your class? Or all students, period?

En vis mann slår aldri en hund i klubben med en stokk, fordi hunden vil vende rundt og biter mannens ballene av. Most civilised countries around the globe state that 16 years of age should be the legal age of consent.
That's the rule we agree here.
i disagree. 16 years old is too young. i believe 18 is a good number but could live with 17.
I don't think 16 is too young, but I do think 16 with someone 15years older is too young.
The ages should be in balance, or like women said, emotional maturity should be on the same level.
And besides when there is such a big age gap so young, you cant help but wonder who has the hidden agenda.
I agree, students and teachers are BIG no, just for the pure fact its not fair on the rest of the students that are willing to work their asses of for good grades and recommendations.
How strange is it that in some countries being gay is illegal but being lesbian isn't?
Same, those countries are probably run by men with some serious girl on girl fantasies...
Thread moved, thanks Primal.
I have to apologize for not stating that it is wrong for a person in authority over another to have sex with them in any form. I have heard that the teacher so involved in Georgia had resigned/quit his position when the "treachery" was discovered. I also believe that no matter what subject a student is in, teachers/professors are still an authority figure and have no right to have sex with them, just as priest and police also have no right. I thank any and all who have commented.
For Primal: Thanks for getting this into the right area. I'm still fairly new here and still learing all the "rules".
"The ages should be in balance, or like women said, emotional maturity should be on the same level," totally agree with Oneline. When the age disparity lends itself to manipulation, not cool. Unfortunately, statutes and laws in the U.S. have taken the place of common sense and allow for the moral minority to tell others how to live their lives.
True story I read in case law: 21 year old boy and 17 year old girl have a physical relationship. Parents of the girl find out and pursue the boy legally and win. Boy is now a "sex offender."
Lastly, why is that show about the child pageants even on T.V. but the 21 year old is a sex offender? Watched one, the little girl is crying, the mother is taunting her, the viewer (who probably is a sex offender) is probably off in his own gross little world. Pretty much lends to the argument that the U.S. is very hypocritical.
