I'm torn between the memories of running around with the neighbourhood kids, our pretend guns (sticks) in hand, going "Pow! Pow! - I got you!" or the quieter moments when I'd re-enact major battles of WWII with my HO/OO scale soldiers and tanks whilst digging up my dad's garden to make trenches et al......aaaah! the memories!

What? War mongerer? Me? Never!!

Walking to the youth center after school, and not worrying about molesters. Getting that bubble gum, or candy bar you wanted, even though you didn't have enough cents. Being able to be a kid without worrying about the guy who didn't get to be a kid.

We were watching a movie from 1975 last night and noticed something about all the kids in the background scenes. Out of maybe 100 kids 1 of them would be a little chunky. Funny how riding bikes, playing outside with friends and only watching cartoons for a couple of hours on Saturday keep the childhood obesity problem at bay. So are kids better off with all the video games, computers and 400 channels on TV? Or were they better without all that and played with friends all the time.

I liked playing King of the Mountain, tag, hide and seek, and baseball sometimes basketball and football. Can you remember any games you played?

Kick the can, smear the que_r, commando basketball and football, Horse, pig, 21 the hard way,
Those were just a few of my favorite things.
If all my other friends were absent, and only the nieborhood girl (with cooties of course) was around,
Playing doctor was the game of choice.
Thats how I learned what an inny actually looked like!

Sorry to hear about your Granmother Dirty Martini, do you still have the bike!

wow some of these people wrote my life lol.

Playing scrub baseball with my brothers after supper until it got to dark to see the ball.
Going to the beach with a big family and having weiner roasts and toasting marshmallows after the fire died down.
One on one time with just me and my mom, baking and cooking for the weeks lunches for school. Putting up the christmas tree and singing carols as loud as we could.
We only had 1 channel on our tv so we didnt watch much, but we did watch Jr Forest Rangers every day after school.

I sure wish life were that simple again.
