Ok I'd also go to Woodstock and see if the hype about drugs ,sex and rock n roll was true ...
It was true, Lois. But you have to remember something. Back then, you could try sex or drugs once and not die from it.
(That said from someone who was just a kid then and never did a drug in his life.)
I would go back to Noember 22 1963 in Dallas Texas to prevent the assanation of John Kennedy. He did a lot for america, supporting the black population, wanting to end the war in vietnam etc. The world is a better place today because of him.
I think you should check your history stu, it was Kennedy who put the "advisors" in to 'nam and things would have happend just the same if he were alive or dead.
I'm seriously fantasizing about traveling to the future. They are talking about a space endeavor to mars with people in the next 10 years. And we could colonize the moon in 40 I'd say. Being a HUGE Star Wars fan I just can't accept the fact that I'll be dead just as we reach a new planet. I want to travel in space NOW!!!
Even when you're blindfolded, Hindsite is 20/20
I would want to go back to the 1920' and 1930's, it was a simpler time and I want to meet Marilyn Monroe she is a classic beauty.
Veni, vidi, vici" Julius Caesar 47 BC
I've always been fascinated by the early 1900s, when my grandmother was a young woman. I grew up hearing her stories and would love to see that time for myself.
Back to the beginning of humanity.
PS. Can i borrow the machine when you're done with it? Please? Cheers
I would make a series of travels...
I would bring a digital camera and video record all of the "marks" in history that we only know about from books. Just to make sure that the stories are correct and that we are not being fooled by anyone.
I would not change anything that happened I would just observe and record - then I´d present it all today...
I wonder what people´s reaction would be to know that what we read in "whatever book" is not exactly the truth...
I would go back to several decades: The Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s and 30s, civil rights movement of the 1960s, and my teenage years of the 1990s.
To see my father again - what a wonderful man - miss him dearly
Love to revisit school - knowing what I know now - not that I would change anything but maybe a wiser head would of kept me of some of those scraps.

I kind of like where (and when) I am just now. The past is old news; it's all about the here and now.
I'd be tempted to go hang out in front of the Dakota and beat the shit of of Chapman before he had a chance to pull the trigger on the evening of December 8th, 1980.
For me. Just like Chef first said. Just back a little to spend some time again with my parents. Other than that
their is nothing i would what to go back too.
I agree with a lot of the opinions before me re being with your parents or the 20s decade where there seemed to be no limit of fun times.
But I would also like to return to New Orleans, pre Katrina, and once more enjoy that magical city. Take another drive along the Gulf coast through undamaged Biloxi, Mobile, and the many small communities that I visited and enjoyed. Relive some of those great memories just one more time.
Medieval ages, preferably England or France.
I wouldn't mind meeting Eleanor of Aquitaine, or being served by a knight in shining armour ;)
I think I would go back to the 3rd-century BC and tour the great city-states in their heyday with Alexander the Great.
When I got ready to leave, I would sell my sword to Alexander (steel blades of the period were usually made from meterorites and thus almost impossible to find ... and quite literally worth their weight in gold) then stop off in 1973 to buy Exxon-Mobile stock at $4/share and Dollar General stock at 3-cents/share
