I have made a few tips, I have handed out a few. I will give away anything I get.

I also agree searches here are not very effective, and weren't with Lush 1.0 either. I second the need for a good robust search option.

Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit)
Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex)
Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)

Not to derail this thread, but improving the search is on the radar soon for the development team.

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 109 full stories, 10 micro-stories, and 2 poems with the following features:

* 29 Editor's Picks, 72 Recommended Reads.
* 15 competition podium places, 9 other times in the top ten.
* 21 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

Personally, I would take that over the coins but whatever.

Apes can talk dirty, too. Here's my entry in the "Dirty Talk" competition. Read it and let me know what you think. A virgin student gets a special present from his female housemate.

Yes. A solid search engine is preferable to coins. I shouldn't have buried the lead, eh?

Since most wallets will probably not pass the threshold of 375 Lush coins*, either because people don't receive enough of them or because they give away too many to reach that amount, most of the tip money will just go to the site owners effectively. Something to keep in mind, when buying coins to tip your fellow Lushies.

* I propose we give this currency a suiting name and symbol, like…
Cum: Your story "Sexy time" just earned you ₡32.
Kisses: You just added ₭12.50 to your wallet.
Fucks: noll just gave you ƒ2 for your post.
Titties: Are you sure you want to give Dani ₸3?

I love your enthusiasm. 😊The Red Umbrella fund does a lot of great work around the world for many different communities. The first site I linked has lots of research from both academics and people in the field as well (often people with experience in both too). Just figured since Lush is classified as an adult site by payment processors as are other sites that feature the work of sex workers, I figured that it would be appropriate to share it with those who wanted to learn more or pay it forward. ❤️ https://www.redumbrellafund.org/

I have just received some Lush coins, I honestly was not expecting any.

Do we get to know who has contributed or does it remain anonymous?

edit-I have partially answered my question because I clicked on coins on my page and it says the donor was Anonymous, I suppose donors have the option of remaining anonymous.

Yes. Rather like the gift option to friends the gifter/tiper can opt to be anonymous but still include a message.

Thank you, John. In the case of my first, and maybe only, 'tip', there is no message.

edit- I now see that I have an email advising me of the tip and that includes a message.

The original email I got said, "As an extra incentive to all our authors that make the site amazing, we are now converting a percentage of all the site revenues into coins which will be included with membership upgrades."

When I first read that I thought it mean that LS would be revenue sharing with authors but now I'm not sure that is what it means.

Is this actually only referring to the coins anyone gets when they upgrade their membership? So, if you upgrade to lifetime you get 100 coins and that's the only thing you'll see from the revenue sharing (not including tips)?

I'm adding new stories every day! As a polyamorous/pansexual person, I love to write stories that feature polyam relationships with plenty of mixed pairings! Please check out my profile to see what's new!

I bought a lifetime membership on maybe day seven. A month ago. Literally. Zero chance for coins now. Not craving coins, just an observation.

The site makes money through companies purchasing ads and people buying memberships. Instead of keeping the full membership cost everyone pays, they're now converting some of that into coins and giving it to the member to use as they wish. The person can keep it if they like, and put it towards a further membership, or pass it on by tipping other authors.

Fascinating discussion. Cyber sex meets crypto currency. Need proof of work? Read, masturbate, monetize! No electricity required except for occasional batteries. Preserve the environment, decarbonize with Lush coins, currency of the future, sweet charity. Where are you our big spenders?

My Lush Coins account tells me I have coins available to exchange, but there doesn't seem to be a button to press to get my forty-five bucks. (Less admin. charge)

Is this a work in progress?

Hiya, I think they'd temporarily disabled withdrawals while switching the company providing the vouchers, etc, but PayPal withdrawals should still be a thing.

I'll check tomorrow and get back to you asap.

To update. Withdrawals to PayPal should be up and running in a week or two.

I couldn't find any specifics in the thread, but are authors permitted or encouraged to solicit for Lush coins when they post in chat about their new stories being published?

It's Good News Week.

As withdrawals to PayPal are now up and running, I am able to proceed with my purchase of a small island in the Caribbean.

Yep..🎶🎶

I'll check with Sir Richard, the current owner, but I doubt they have bylaws against that kind of thing in the Caribbean. 🤔

I know Lush coins are supposed to be for readers to reward writers, but can we use them the other way around? I would like to use mine to offer a prize for spotting something in my story. Is that OK?

I can't see anything wrong with this approach. You're engaging readers with your writing, which is the intent of the coins. But don't take my word as gospel and please wait for a few others to chime in.

Thank you, WW. I can’t see the problem - it will put more coins in circulation, which will hopefully end up with writers. X

I suggested the idea of using coins for a "private comp" type of thing (offering coins for stories on a theme the offerer is interested in) and Jen seemed good with it. If that's allowed, can't see why this would not be. That's back before coins were actually in circulation, during the leadup to deployment.
