Well, I am absolutely amazed at my name being in lights. Thank you to everyone that read, commented and voted on the story and a big massive thank you to the judges for placing my story in third place.
A great job all round to all the winners and to everyone that entered. It was a strange competition and I found it hard to write horror when I knew what I was going to write. I have received many emails from some of you citing some of my work as inspirational.
That has also blown me away. So thank you so very much.
And it was an all Brit lineup on the podium. Thank's Nicola for an entertaining theme to a competition. It really stretched the imagination.
What can I say!
Well, I would really like to thank the Bad Martha Brewery company, for providing some inspirational words (part of which found themselves into the title) and for some inspirational spirits (all of which found themselves inside me). What a great Pub just outside Falmouth on Cape Cod. ALso thanks to Martha's Vineyard where it was set.

just wanted to say that, everyone who entered brought their A game. every story that made the top 10 fought tooth and claw to get there against a lot of stories that i would have loved to see on the list as well. really, for this one, i wish i could list the top 20 cause they all deserve a bit of praise.
Mags nailed it, imo, that said, as Nicky said, it was close, wow, WW and Darkside were solid and Beffer's and V's were personal favs for me. really solid writing this go around and anyone who didn't make the list, don't let that stop you for the next one - some of you were insanely close!

There were so many exceptionally good enries - I can understand the judges dilemma in chosing even the top 10 let alone the wimmer. Well done everybody.
