Yeah, I think that is the main selling perk of the Platinum rank as far as I can tell (well, aside from it being a one-time purchase and not recurring, which I guess is a plus if you intend to pay for another membership for multiple years).

I'm sure someone, somewhere can look at numbers and see if the "highlight" actually makes any meaningful difference to story stats, especially against Gold members, which is the other level that gives you review prioritization (and thus allows you to pump stories out faster, which I would imagine could have a bigger impact on gaining readers).

Naked! Birthday novella, part 1: Naked Birthday: Chapters 1 - 3 | Lush Stories

I know several top end writers who have not gone platinum just because of it.

It's made no difference to my stats and personally, it isn't any inducement to read a story.

For me, being a Goldie and now Platinum has mostly been about the queue priority, especially now that the queue seems to be quite long normally. I was Gold on Lush 1.0 before this highlighting existed. The highlight, if it has an impact, would be another nice perk but wasn't why I paid.

The security cam was supposed to catch porch pirates, but instead it launched Tyler and Wendy on a new erotic journey.

For stories posted on this site, why do some stories have a light yellow background and others have a white background (no background at all)? Just curious.

BTW, thank you for posting the user guide. It answered a lot of questions.

A significant number of platinum members were polled, 3 as I recall, and given the choice of another small perk. Their stories/poems highlighted in a sort of dirty english mustard colour, free tea or coffe at all the vending machines or vouchers for cheap meals at McDonalds. All voted for the first option.

The highlight occurs in the moderation queue as an extra clue for us to know where the priority stories end and the rest begin. But they're mixed with the Golds anyway, in order of submission, so it doesn't really add anything useful there either. I think the same style rule bled over to the main site and it stuck.

I'd be happy if the highlight died. It looks amateurish, imo. And is patently ridiculous on your own Stories page with a sea of yellowish boxes.

If we were going to go with any highlighting at all, I'd approach it using something like the attached screenshot, with the header bar of each story matching the member ship status and a very very subtle off-white for basic members. That helps delimit the stories in lists and grids, and makes the page easier to visually scan too. Silver and platinum are still a bit too similar, but y'know, details...

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 124 full stories, 10 micro-stories, and 3 poems with the following features:

* 30 Editor's Picks, 80 Recommended Reads.
* 16 competition podium places, 11 other times in the top ten.
* 23 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

I feel like having platinum stories appear double-size or bold or, I dunno, at the top of the page would be more of an incentive.

Cassie at Lake Ossipee: My first dive into watersports, New Hampshire, 1968
Cassie’s Wet Dreams: More watersports, mostly Boston, 1969-1976
All That Jizz: An ongoing cum cleanup series, New York City, 1926
În Vânt (Into The Wind): My first Recommended Read! Austria-Hungary, 1892
Bad Medicine: A medical romp starring Kat of DannyandKat, 2024

As a platinum it wouldn't bother me if the colour feature was disabled. Pretty much the only reason i bought a platinum was to support the site and writers in general regardless of membership status. smile

Lumping them at the top of the page is probably not gonna work. Just because someone has bought Platinum doesn't make their stories any more or less important, or better written, than anyone else.

I'd honestly get rid of the highlight altogether. There are plenty of other Gold/Platinum perks like increased media and messaging limits, plus the little extra editing assistance from moderators.

Not my decision, though.

I think non-Platinum stories should be auto-translated into pig-Latin via bot. Only platinum stories get re-translated back into English.

Ersonally-pay, I'd-way ov-lay is-thay articular-pay erk-pay.

Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit)
Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex)
Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)

...and for some, this alone is a price worth paying when what you use the site for is focused almost entirely on one aspect of what the site offers.
