I now have twenty-one stories on Lush! My stories can now gamble and drink (they could probably use a drink).

I really would like to promote my most recent submission, Casualties. It's my first attempt at Historic Erotica and I'm pretty pleased with it. It got a RR!

Anne is widowed and caring for her sick mother during the third summer of the American Civil War, when the Northern army commandeers her farm. One soldier, Fin, has an obsessive interest in her. And when he discovers her hidden food stores, she has no choice but to give him whatever it is he wants.

It's not Gone With the Wind and, unlike my usual fare, it's not a bit sweet. I hope you'll give it a try.

EDIT: I forgot to say this....

I'll second this suggestion! If you're looking for erotica written with skill, creativity and intelligence - real, actual stories, not merely masturbation fodder - you owe it to yourself to read this and other stories by Ms. B.
Umm, please understand that I'm not bashing masturbation fodder, which definitely has its place, nor am I saying that Burquette's stories aren't thoroughly arousing (ahem...). Just read it and see for yourself.

Burquette doesn't need my endorsement or praise for her very obvious writing talent as she has in a very short time been recognized as one of the top writers here, however her talent so amazes me that I feel obligated to do so. In my opinion she possess a talent that can't be learned no matter how many creative writing classes one might take. Her words leap from the page into ones mind... capturing ones attention. There is not a question in my mind that Burquette possess mainstream, top selling talent.

she writes good, too. (it's not to early to be drinking, right? i mean, if i was living in the UK it wouldn't be. i'm not, but let's just pretend).

no, seriously, she writes good. smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I would agree she writes good but actually good is not good enough to describe her writing talent... she writes very good... actually better than very good.

And no it is not too early to be drinking... sometimes it is good to get a good early start.

I want you to save your eloquence for stories about hot, fast-food drive-thru, lesbian Dominants.

And, it's never too early to be drinking. That's why God made Mimosas.

You are my best critic. I know if you like a story I've done a good job. Thank you so much for this. I really, really appreciate it.

It went really well thank you biggrin My son's football team won their game so that was awesome.

I just read this story, it was outstanding. I never doubted that you were as exceptionally talented as everyone claimed, but now I know for a fact that you truly are. That was an excellent read, I can't wait to read more of your work.

Have a great week

I'm so flattered and pleased that you read. I get a little worried when I'm recommended because I would absolutely hate to disappoint. However, if I wasn't recommended, nobody would ever read me!

I'm sending you a huge hug for your time and just because I like you!

So....I wrote and published a novel about four years ago. Here's the cover:

My publisher is an interesting little imprint. One of the things they do is serialize all of their novels for free. The idea is, hopefully, you'll like it so well, you'll need to read the end and, therefore, buy the whole book. My book started its serialization today. You can read it for free, one chapter a week (for nine months), here: http://forbiddenfiction.com/chapter/

You shouldn't need to sign up for a free membership just to read, but correct me if I'm wrong and I'll edit this post. You will need a free membership if you want to comment.

A couple of things:

1. I wrote it more than five years ago so my style is a bit rougher.

2. It's a behemoth at 116,000 words. I wasn't thinking of turning it into a published novel when I wrote it so I wasn't watching the word count.

3. If I were tagging it, it would be labeled with reluctance/seduction (of course), BDSM, oral sex, straight sex, gay sex, anal sex, lesbian, bisexual, exhibitionism, voyeur, group sex and supernatural (Clearly, I was trying to get every sex act I could think of in there).

Thank you if you give it a try. No hard feelings if you don't.

PS.....

looks like you do have to create an acct to read the story itself:

"Non-members can read story descriptions and general announcements. If you wish to read erotic stories, comment on posts, and/or participate in forums, you will need to become a member. Free memberships are available.
How It Works: Choices in Reading"

And thanks for promoting my comp entry in your sig! I'm tickled pink!

Thank you for this!

I logged out of the site and it still let me read the chapter so I had hope. I guess not....

You know how I loved Gold-Medal Whore. smile I hope you get more views and comments on that gem.

I believe that you can read the free chapters of my novel but the place to click isn't intuitive. Let me see if this works....

Chapter 1

Chapter 2

EDIT: You definitely have to sign up on the publisher's site for a free membership to read the chapters. Sorry about that.

I finished a trilogy.

I know the first part came out in January but if you're interested....

It's the story of a woman who is tempted into trading sexual favors for professional ones. What starts as pay-for-play experience becomes a strange romance. I think of it as soft-touch BDSM..

Trading Favors was awarded an EP.

Trading More Favors: A Second Encounter was a RR.

The newest, and final, installment is Trading Favors: Closing the Deal. It was awarded a RR, as well.

All together, they're about novella-length!

I'm still new to the site and have read only a tiny bit of the sites comments but I enjoyed it. Really felt it captured the era and without trying to spoil it for other readers I found the end a surprise.

I like hot, smart chicks. Especially when they have a good sense of humor.

Good morning, Rach.

Welcome to Lush! I've only been here a little under a year, myself.

I'm really delighted that you took that time to read Casualties. Thank you so much.

My sentiments about each one of you precisely for all the good it will do me.

However, this thread telling the "world" about the divine Ms. B's writing genius is most gratifying to me as I found her on my own, months ago, and I'm still reading.

It is nice being right about something once in a while.

Yes, Ms. B, that one about the D at the drive through scorched my eyebrows!!
