57 Varieties – the most-read stories in each Lush category

Back from my post-wedding break, here are the next three (I think). 

43. Steampunk

Category added in November 2017. Presumably someone influential must have lobbied for its inclusion as a separate category, since it’s really just a sub-set of Sci-Fi, and even the most popular story has barely racked up 9,000 hits.

1. “The Pounder” by adele, submitted on 20 November 2017, with 9,107 hits

2. “An Engineer’s Dream” by DarkSide, submitted on 21 November 2017, with 7,670 hits

3. “Murder On The River Thames” by Green_Man, submitted on 18 January 2018, with 7,526 hits

Adele joined Lush on 9 April 2011 and has written 122 stories.

DarkSide joined Lush on 28 April 2011 and has written 400 stories to date.

Green_Man joined Lush on 10 June 2012 and is another prolific author, with 570 stories to date.

44. Straight Sex

Not surprisingly, there are some big scorers at the top of this popular category.

1. “The Biggest Cock I Ever Had” by luckywife, submitted on 23 July 2011, with 625,121 hits

2. “My Wife’s Massage That Had Gotten Out Of Control” by mter100, submitted on 11 May 2011, with 436,709

3. Eros University Chapter 2: The Blonde Seductress” by blogger007, submitted on 2 October 2011, with 348,175 hits

Luckywife joined Lush on 23 July 2011, and this is her only story, online that same day. She was last seen in October 2012.

Mter100 joined Lush on 4 December 2009 and has written 115 stories to date, many of them “famous” or “legendary”, and with a special interest in MILF and wife-lover stories.

Blogger007 joined Lush on 4 December 2009 and wrote 5 stories. He was last seen on 24 April 2014.

45. Strap-on Sex

1. “Shopping For A Strap-on” by Pegasus4, submitted on 23 November 2009, with 42,332 hits

2. “Jaq Invites Friend From Canada” by Colin123, submitted on 17 March 2021, with 33,612 hits

3. “Make Me Your Plaything” by dlcalguy, submitted on 10 July 2017, with 29,472 hits

Pegasus4 joined Lush on 28 January 2008 and has written 25 stories to date.

Colin123 joined Lush on 17 June 2014 and has written 78 stories to date, including 69 Famous and 3 Legendary. Another “Top 3” hit for him.

Dlcalguy joined Lush on 21 April 2014 and has written 7 stories to date.

Incidentally, I'm really glad that I completed the research on this before #NewLush came into being, because it doesn't seem to be possible to find these stats any more - at least, I can't work out how!

I should add that if they do, adjustments will have to be made. I saw one Micro that went from 160ish reads to 6.1k overnight. One of mine even went from 312 to 254 -- I know, but when you're a small potato, every Aye is precious...

If you can believe the stats -- I just read a story that had 7,000+ reads in two days. She's a good writer, but really? Against a history of a few hundred normally? If it is indeed true, I will kill every one of my stories (when that is actually possible) and post them all again. I could do no worse.

There's a new story on the front page that has had "15.5k" reads in just 4 hours! 

I know stories are supposed to be popular on here, but seriously! 

46. Supernatural

Another category that attracts less attention than it deserves. Only one story has had over 100k hits.

Avrgblkgrl joined Lush on 28 September 2011 and has written 69 stories. She was a high-profile member at one time, but I’m not sure if she’s around anymore.

Futa_Contractor joined Lush on 14 February 2012 and wrote just this one story - there never was a Chapter 2. He hasn’t been around since December 2013.

tb0ne2u joined Lush on 7 April 2010 and wrote 8 stories. He last logged in on 22 October 2014.

47. Swingers

One of the most recent categories, added in April 2018, although the top three stories were all written much earlier.

Pegasus4 joined Lush on 28 January 2008 and has written 25 stories to date.

Mysteria27 joined Lush on 3 April 2013 and has so far written 946 stories, with new ones appearing regularly. Another Top 3 story for this popular author.

A category that can cover all sorts of kinky stuff, and with some big-number stories. One of the Top 3 writers is even still active.

Biggy09 joined Lush on 26 June 2012 and wrote 7 stories. He last logged in on 9 March 2016.

Master_Jonathan joined Lush on 6 March 2013, and is another prolific author, with 684 stories to date. He also has a top 3 story in “Monster Sex”.

Audiversion joined Lush on 19 June 2013 and wrote just 3 stories. He was last seen in March 2017.

Another three categories. All stats guaranteed accurate at the end of August 2021. Some of the bizarre numbers of "reads" that have been seen since #NewLush came online have already skewed the figures in some of the less-read categories, but these three are probably okay. 

Surprisingly, this popular porn category was added as recently as November 2017. Again, the top 3 stories were written much earlier.

Naughtyannie joined Lush on 8 Jun 2011 and has written 149 stories to date. Another couple of top 3 slots for her.

Edlangston joined Lush on 19 February 2010 and has written 301 stories to date. Regular followers of this thread will be very familiar with his name.

50. Threesomes

Another fairly recent category, added in March 2018.

RejectReality joined Lush on 30 January 2012 and has written 226 stories to date.

51. Toys

We’ve all got our favourite toy, right? And toy story, too.

Jessicaaaa jpined Lush on 1 January 2011 and wrote 3 stories. She was around for less than a year, and last logged on in September 2011.

Too bad it and the popular lists are now gone.  My views nosedived so hard they hit like the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs.

The long-term potential of my stories is one of the reasons I used to enjoy coming back over the years. I'm still hopeful that the right changes will be made to return us to something like the old place, but I'm nervous that it won't be enough. 

That's fascinating research Annie, well done for compiling this. So many different authors, though some did occur more than a few times, so well done to them.  I feel honoured to have taken the first place in Femdom...A sign that I must write more in this category perhaps. 😁

Three more categories. Only another three to go after these. Then I guess I need to do some sort of round-up of the overall top stories and authors. That'll be fun.

Bizkit joined Lush on 8 April 2009 (the same day this story was posted) and only wrote one more – which happens to be the top Gay Male story. He was last seen in September 2020.

Kelliannsnow joined Lush on 10 May 2008 and wrote just 5 stories, including 3 further parts to this one. “She” was last seen in January this year.

Apocalypsekitten1 joined Lush on 13 April 2010 and wrote 2 stories. She was last seen in July 2014.

53. True

Another one of the categories added in November 2017.

1. “The Fun of Being Naked Outdoors” by naughtyannie, submitted on 5 February 2014, with 100,318 hits. I can confirm that this one is true.

2. “My Office Affair” by Master_Jonathan, submitted on 24 April 2015, with 52,948 hits

3. “Bangkok Tour Guide” by Reddead2010, submitted on 8 May 2014, with 47,298 hits

Naughtyannie joined Lush on 8 Jun 2011 and has posted around 150 stories to date, though it's hard to tell these days.

Master_Jonathan joined Lush on 6 March 2013, and is another prolific author, with 684 stories to date. Another top 3 story for him.

Reddead2010 joined Lush on 3 February 2013 and has written 38 stories to date. He’s still very active.

54. Uniform

Another one of the categories added in November 2017, with the top spots all taken by authors who appear elsewhere in this list. I can't say I’ve actually checked, but across all the categories these look like the three stories that are closest in their scores: less than 1000 between 1 and 3.

One of my favourite subjects, a perfect match for “Exhibitionism”, though interestingly the top stories have a lot more hits than the “Exhibitionism” ones.

Blake joined Lush on 2 December 2006 and wrote just 3 stories. He last logged on in January 2011.

56. Watersports

A subset of “fetish”, this category was added in November 2017.

Naughtyannie joined Lush on 8 Jun 2011 and has written around 150 stories to date. She also has the 4th and 6th most-read stories in this category, the filthy creature.

“edlangston” has been a Lush member since February 2010, and has written almost 300 stories. Yet another top 3 story from him.

KatieElizabeth joined Lush on 5 October 2013 and is a Lush Moderator. She has written 28 stories to date.

57. Wife Lovers

Last, but definitely not least, a category with some very big stories. Interestingly, each of the three top writers were active for less than 12 months, over ten years ago, so won’t have seen their stories achieve such big numbers today.

Mav99 joined Lush on 2 June 2009 and wrote just 2 stories, both of which are “legendary”. He last logged onto this site on 9 June 2009, so was active for just 8 days!

Kylie69 joined Lush on 15 December 2006 and also wrote just 2 stories. Her profile doesn’t say when she last logged on, but her last forum post was 20 March 2007.

NastyDog joined Lush on 15 July 2008 and wrote 37 stories, the last of these on 18 March 2009. He doesn’t seem to have logged on since then.

Those of you who’ve been following this thread may be interested in a few overall statistics. Especially interesting, I think, is a list of the top 10 most-read stories – which are therefore listed below:

As you’d expect, most of these are fairly old (none were posted later than 2013); it takes a while to rack up that many hits. Also, a lot of the writers are no longer active. But congratulations to all of them. NB – numbers were accurate as of August 2021, when it was still possible to see exact figures.

This was very educational and entertaining. I know from my own experience that ten years ago there were far fewer writers and even my early works (which badly need to be rewritten) received nearly ten times the view that I get now. Thanks for all the hard work!!

The other interesting statistic is which writers have the most appearances in these lists – the most “Top 3” stories, in other words. There are a clear “Top Three”, as follows:

1. Edlangston, with 11 stories, submitted between 2010 and 2015

- Three 1st, four 2nd and four 3rd

2. NaughtyAnnie, with 8 stories, submitted between 2011 and 2018

- Six 1st, one 2nd and one 3rd

3. Mysteria27, with 6 stories submitted between 2014 and 2017

- Two 1st, one 2nd and three 3rd

The other writers with three or more stories in the lists are MasterJonathan (5), Colin123 (4), JessicaX (4), Pegasus4 (4), Buz (3), Dancing Doll (3), DarkSide (3), Floridaguy2001 (3), JuliaFoxxx (3) and Milik_the_Red (3).

So Edlangston takes the top spot, although NaughtyAnnie deserves special mention for having no fewer than six “number 1” spots: in Historical, Microfiction, Outdoor, Teen, True and Watersports. And of course, Buz deserves commendation for being the only writer to take all top 3 slots in a single category, with his full house in “College Sex”.

Since I finished this survey in 2021, one new category has been added, and so it seemed appropriate to add a post about “Face-Sitting”. Recent improvements to the “New Lush” mean that it is now once more possible to get readership figures to the nearest hundred, so such a survey is now possible again.  Although the new system also allows sorting by “Most Favourited” and “Most Liked”, for the sake of consistency I have stuck to ranking by “Most Read”.

58. Face-Sitting

Face-sitting was added as a category in October 2021. All of the top three stories were written prior to this date and were thus moved into the category from elsewhere.

“bryanll” posted two stories, both published on 20 Feb 2017, and both on the subject of face-sitting. It’s not possible to tell when he was last on Lush, except it was “over 90 days ago”.

“Banes1” joined Lush on 4 Aug 2013 and has written 243 stories. He posted his last story in Sept 2022, and was still active in the forums in November 2022, but has not been seen since then. He also has top 3 stories in the “Horror” and “Mind Control” categories.

“ricinatl” joined lush 12 years ago, and has posted 33 stories, most recently in January 2023.
