O' furry lump of flesh and blood
postumous ex-possum, for you I mourn
You shall never again see the starry sky
Or greet the noon day sun.
O' cadaverous pile of bloody bones
A deer, your children full of bereavement
You once ran proud through fields of grass
now you are one with the pavement.
O' splotch of smeared feathers on the road
A goose or perhaps a duck
I wonder what your last thoughts might have been
I'm thinking they began with "fuck!"
I mourn thee, o' roadkill, at the end of my street
And pray that you pass into heaven
I hope that no matter where your soul goes
Your remains will be cleaned up by seven.

Genius. Made me laugh out loud! Thanks for the smiles.
Well my blond friend, this is definitely you. Who else would write a poem including road kill?
