The All Time Most Popular Author's List

I was looking through the Top 100 and I think it should stay at 100, especially since there is a monthly list which changes more frequently. If I were to change anything it would be a top 100 All-time badge for the people who are on it and the rating in the box next to it. It could also have a search function.

I was surprised to see that one author I looked for wasn't on the list, but I may have simply pass-over the name. I saw the first story they ever posted. To this day it has a score of 8 and 1 comment. They have gone on to win contests. They were my inspiration to stay with it after I uploaded some really crappy stories. This was back in 2018. Theirs was one of 3 comments that made me laugh and realize it was worth the effort to improve, if only for me and a few other people. Sorry, that was really corny. 😳

I really don't like the Top Author and Top Story lists.. it's a popularity list as opposed to an indication of the quality of the writing. That WW is only at 75 speaks volumes.

There are only 3 Competition winners in the Top 20, none in the Top 10 so its a list of who has a big fan base, nothing more.. but yeah, if it really matters, have the Top 30,000.. Lets drown in data

I wouldn't be in favour of extending the Top Author list but perhaps because I'm unlikely to ever be on it. I think susie's post is really interesting. I like to think my stories are well written and I do OK on Comps which does not necessarily mean lots of views. I do agree that the Top Authors list is at least partly a popularity contest but also find that the top authors are often the most prolific and they write what people like to read. For me personally I'd think that EPs and RRs are more indicative of a top quality story and a top author but that doesn't necessarily mean they are popular. I have an RR that has about 600 views.

Just realised we've been talking about the top 100 so much but it's only showing the top 98 currently.

Which is interesting, because the top 100 show for the month, but not for all time. Odd indeed.

Cookies And Lemonade - a short story about a reporter who gets an unforgettable story when he interviews a 1940s actor.

Titty, Clitty Gangbang - a microfiction with a restriction...lol.

The Party Line - a naive college grad in the '60s stumbles upon an erotic conversation.

I found it strange too, I did point it out at the top of the thread that it was 98.

My Story Library is here: Wxt55uk's Stories

Maybe a couple of deleted authors and it hasn't updated yet. Think it only refreshes at the start of each month. Not sure.

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 121 full stories, 10 micro-stories, and 3 poems with the following features:

* 30 Editor's Picks, 78 Recommended Reads.
* 16 competition podium places, 11 other times in the top ten.
* 23 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.
