1. If it’s the first thing you’re asked that’s a bit of a red flag.

2. Questions like this are ok if things are about to get intimate, but I more try and feel out what the person is comfortable with in terms of their body and sexual experience.

3. I’ve heard a lot of stories from a good friend who was trans but had no interest in surgery that a partner’s excitement about their genitals varied greatly. Some were super excited about the ‘chick with a dick’ and would really want to engage with their cock. Others pretended it wasn’t there at all. She told me exactly what I think your feeling here, it’s not a great feeling to be fetishized and depersonalized.

I'm sorry to hear if anyone who isn't about to have sex with you is asking. That's tokenizing and dehumanizing.

If you don't like having a penis, I'd guess that after (or if) you have surgery, you may well find a lot of people who aren't interested in you once they learn your status.

There's nothing wrong with having preferences (I eventually learned not to worry about those in the dating pool who dismissed me out of hand simply because I'm short - and by the way, that's a lot of people). But don't waste your time dating (or judging!) people who aren't interested in you because of a physical attribute. There will still be those who are interested you, either despite (or even because of) it. Focus on them.
