I got bored with the whole gym thing, then my gym offered up boot camp training, its now a religion for me. Its outside in the fresh air, varied & it pushes your limits & with an instructor who inspires you the benefits are endless both mentally & physically.

Exercise is probably the single best drug there is. You feel good, look good and push your limits if you're doing it properly. What's not to love???

Yes. But the gym environment isn't for me at all. Too much showing off, too much staring.

It's much better now that I've completely given up on going to the gym to focus on practicing yoga on a daily basis. It's flexible, dynamic, calming, challenging, connective, sweaty. It's when my mind finds stillness and I nurture and strengthen my body. And, it's giving more results than gym ever did.

I would have thought no. But apparently I have gotten so used to working out, that I have missed it being sick the past two weeks! Who would have thought?

Once I get to the gym I'm fine, but I'm currently bothered by all of the New Year's resolution crowd, so I've decided to take a month-long sabbatical.

I'm not a gym lover. Prefer outdoors and am a bit of a Strava freak.

I swam 400km last year. Cycled about 3500km and a bit of running, about 300km.

Yes. We do Stott Pilates twice a week and Barre once a week. Our classes are small and we have all become friends.

As I've gotten older I've figured out that working out is important and if i don't it's very easy to gain weight. It'snot just in keeping fit but in helping me watch what I eat. However, recently I've become bored with my workout routines and need to look into changing things up. But I'm too damn cheap to spend what they ask for a trainer. Most of whom are a third my age and probably got their "certificates" on line.

I love it. Without it I’d have too much excess energy sitting idle.

I do. Except I don't call it that. I call it being active.

They closed my gym on Monday so 3 days later I 'm stunned by how much I miss working out. all I can do at home is core stuff since I don't have weights to lift here and bales of hay are too damn awkward to use.

I dont "work out" per se, but I enjoy running, cycling, playing tennis and golf and try to do something physical every day.

yeah, not having my gym open is a blow to my sanity silly

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I love working out. I don't see it as a chore, I see it as a way of life. I do Pilates and kickboxing.

I miss toying w/ B(Pilates instructor) at 6am but he was kind enough to lend me Pilates machine and I miss beefy babes from kickboxing gym.

I've never been in those regular gyms.

Yeah, I do. And both of us miss our Stott Pilates and Barre classes, BIG TIME! We're doing the best we can at home.

I seriously hated working out--all types of exercise from walking to running to weights. It was painful and boring and uncomfortable and sweaty. Then: I hired a personal trainer. And yes, I hated it at first. But it got better and better as I persisted and now I love it!

I love it as a form of exhibitionism and meditation. Also beating the shit out of things.

Yoga, yes.

Walking, yes.

Weights, calisthenics, grunt & sweat, no.

But I do a lot of research for my work, and from everything I've read, exercise is THE most valuable thing you can do for your body.

After all, look at me. I'm 173 years old!

if i could get the same health and physical benefits by playing video games, i absolutely would. i don't hate working out (most of the time) but i do it more out of necessity than for enjoyment.
