What about your own stories?

The assumption is true for me.
I would usually look for certain topics or motives relating to my fantasies. I sometimes find stories matching my fantasies to a certain extent but then I'm sometimes disappointed.
On the one hand my own story matches my fantasy only limitted by my (lack of) ability to narrate, on the other hand the story and its punchline is predictable and promises no surprises.

I have. Most of the stories come from my own fantasies so they are very much in tune with what turns me on. I wouldn't be writing them otherwise. The only time that may not be true are my rare incursions into rougher stuff, which doesn't really float my boat in real life.

I definitely do while in the process of writing a story because the concept is floating around in my head and the content still feels raw and kinky. Once I'm finished writing a story, however, I don't go back to it. It's not because the sex acts depicted aren't exciting to me anymore - it's more that once I'm finished with the editing process, my brain is in hyper-critical mode and if I start re-reading things - even for pleasure - all I'm going to see are flaws and things I should have changed or written differently. It kind of kills the mood.

At the time, usually no. Later, possibly. Most of my stories are based on real life experiences and remembering them does turn me on.

Yes, if it doesn't get me going I'm not going to write it. It takes me a long time to finish a story for here because I usually have to keep stopping...

I do get rather excited when I write, because they are about me and the life I have lived. Even if they are not so recent.

While I'm writing them, often times I do get turned on. Sometimes I need to pleasure myself before I can continue. Sometimes I just wait until I'm finished before doing so.

Assumed reading porn makes you horny:
Would you ever (or did you) jerk off/touch yourself over your own story?

NOT REALLY...

I get turned on occasionally WRITING stuff, but since I know how it ends, I never get the IMMEDIACY I get from other's stories. I (mostly) KNOW when I'm writing something that's going to deliver, but it's a bit like cooking a great meal for friends!!! (They'll appreciate it MORE than I will 'cos I WORKED on the bastard!!!)

A lot of my stories are about things I've actually done, not just fantasized about, and while I sometime masturbate to the memory, I usually masturbate to the fantasy.

While thinking them up, hell yes. Writing them, no, that's a different part of my brain. Reading them to someone afterward is the sexiest part.

Recalling the memories before I write the story are surely stirring. My last 2 stories were quite distracting and I got off track more than once. Sharing my sexperiences with Lush is arousing also, but in more of a conversational way. Most people who read my stories ask about further details of the story in private. It's always fun to expand and share, and connect with them in that way as well.

When I write my stories I always stop to play. That is how I know if it is a good one. If I can make myself turned on, I know my readers will enjoy too.

I have several stories of mine that I had to stop several times. Those are always my best stories and in most cases are the ones that become famous.

The funny thing is I never go back to my stories once I finish them. In fact, I just forget them. I do have to go over my stories when I submit to make sure I haven't written that already.

Thankfully, that has never happened yet.

My stories often start off as just the setup with no idea where it's going, and as the fantasy gets hotter so do I. I frequently need to take breaks while writing. Editing? Not so much; as Verbal says. I've never tried reading them to anyone.

Interestingly, I find that coming back to my stories weeks or months later reminds me of exactly why I found them so erotic to write. Almost all of my stories still "work" for me, sometimes even after dozens of readings.

Good Lord!!

Do you have nothing better to do Jack? That took you like a nano second to jump on my post.

Yes we all know I can't cook pizza thanks to SJ

I was just saying. Stephanie is probably a good cook. It was a good metaphor.

With a voice like yours, it is no wonder. I know I always enjoy listening!

Whilst writing them? No. Nothing. Reading them afterwards? Generally much of the same. Nothing. I'm too critical, too much looking for any error. Now, thinking about the fact that other people might be becoming aroused reading my stories? That is arousing.

Yes this.

Hera, I once had a girl email me saying her and one of her FWB's read my work and then did it..That's a turn on..She did also say tho as she was bi she would far more wish it was with me which made me laugh but I was totally chuffed to bits.

I agree totally if people get off on what i write then thats a huge turn on for me tbh.

Oh, yes. Yes, yes, yes.

I've written a couple of stories specifically as presents for friends. I love hearing specifically from them about the stories.

And one was written for a friend who was pining after her neighbor, but didn't know how to approach her. I wrote her a story about the neighbor, um, coming to visit me. My friend left a copy "lying around" and, well, I got two very very hot emails the next day (from my friend and from the neighbor) telling me the effects of the story.

You should. Not even your own necessarily. It's just a very intimate act, reading to someone, whether it is erotica or not (!).
