Which do you prefer erotic story's or a porn film after finding lush I find I prefer erotic story's does more for me
While my personal preference is for eroticism over pure porn, there have been a few stories I've read that fall into the latter category that were very well done.

Myself, I like at least a bit of romance in my stories, and I write mine as such.
I've already preferred stories. I love the written word. Reading is an experience.

Why limit yourself? I enjoy them all.
Ever since I started writing it I've found myself drawn to erotica more than porn.

That and I've always loved reading no matter what it is.
erotica. porn looks..well..fake.
I prefer erotic stories, but have seen some really good skin flicks that supposedly were porn, but also has a good story.
Erotic stories for me
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill.
When I was young, I had a couple of friends who moved into their first apartment, and had porn channels on tv. This was before the Internet. lol I watched porn movies...and hated them all. So fake. Erotic stories can be just as bad, but for me, a good story beats any porno, any day.
I prefer a good erotic story almost every time.
Writing quality explicit material for over eight one-hundredths of a century.

"If, after hearing my songs, just one human being is inspired to say something nasty to a friend, or perhaps to strike a loved one, it will all have been worth the while." - Tom Lehrer

"There is no such thing as good luck or bad luck; only adequate or inadequate preparation for a statistical universe." - Robert Heinlein
I like both. My wife and I read aloud to get in the mood sometimes, and that can be a lot of fun. I do find that if either one seems contrived then it takes me out of the space and it's not a turn-on.

The thing is, you can find a lot more 'realistic' writing than you can find 'realistic' porn. And the stories tend to have more... well... story in them. So many porns are just meet, maybe 30 seconds of setup and then they're all very similar. When I find a porn flick with actual story, I actually find the sex scenes so much more enjoyable.
I enjoy both.. it just depends on my mood
Give me stories every time
I prefer porn, by far. I've actually never masturbated to a story; I definitely need stimuli that are much more immediate and concrete than just words on a screen. I can become aroused while reading some passages, but never to point where I urgently need to masturbate. Admittedly, English not being my first language certainly makes me a lot more distant/detached while reading than the average reader; the 'literary filter' is even more significant for me. I don't have any trouble 'visualizing' what I'm reading though, only it probably takes a lot more efforts for me to achieve that, which is quite a hindrance sexually speaking.

Having said that, I probably wouldn't masturbate to stories even if they were written in my own language. Masturbating to porn is a lot more enticing and convenient for me, and it certainly has become an habit for me to masturbate that way over the years.

As funny as it may sound, reading erotic stories is mostly an intellectual pursuit for me. I love psychology, and the 'amateur stories' found on Lush provide me a wonderful opportunity to plunge into the fantasies of other people. It's not always apparent or obvious, but when interpreting the plot, the tone and the overall context of their stories, you can actually discover quite a few hints about what arouses them (openly or secretly). In that regard, I often favor authors who are seemingly sincere and in touch with the desires that they present in their stories, rather than those who are desperately trying to appear 'sexually correct' just to please a broad audience.

Concerning the whole 'realism' of porn, I sincerely wonder what's so inherently wrong about it. Stories/movies are just as unrealistic to me (if not more), yet I don't hear anybody complaining about them. All these works of fiction essentially exist to offer people some form of fantasy.

Look at this scene (carefully observe the ambiance/setup, the angles of the camera, the lines of dialog), and tell me if it either seems 'authentic' to you, or something 'fake'. I don't know about you, but I don't personally go: "Oh, this totally looks like a real-life event that someone randomly recorded with their smartphone".

The great majority of movies are exactly like that, featuring flawless imagery, sentimental music and idealistic scenarios, even those who claim to be realistic/historical, from Rocky to The Shawshank Redemption. And if your romantic/sex life anyhow resembles what's featured in the stories found on Lush Stories, I must say that it's pretty idyllic to me; I've yet to come across a story that features a man having a hard time giving an orgasm to his 250 lbs wife.

So yeah, porn is an 'idealization' of sex, just like books and movies are an idealization of history, romance, work, family, war, crime and life in general. There isn't anybody in the porn industry that's trying to force you to believe that what's featured in their movies should be the norm of sexuality, just like George Lucas isn't trying to force you to believe that Ewoks exist.

It's only a fantasy, and people fancy that.
I enjoy both - often will start an edging session reading some stories - then move to various forms and types of porn - and, of course, mix in some chatting smile
I prefer reading. I like that I can picture it happening in my head the way I want it to.
Not really into porn.. Love reading erotic stories though smile
My preference is definitely for erotica whether written or in film.
I'd say erotica, but just barely. And I think of some stories as porn, not erotica, and it doesn't bother me. I don't need stories to have plot or character or backstory or any of that. An ability to describe what is happening visually and good, hot dialogue is enough for me. There are some really good stories here that are like someone is simply describing a scene in a porn movie. And I think that's harder to do than it sounds. I wish I was better at it.
It's a mood and what fits the occasion thing. I do prefer the images and feelings in my own head to watching someone else's so I would lean towards stories or just my own fantasies (that then get turned into stories in some cases) but a hot, well-shot porn scene can get me going, too.
Stories for the most part.

This fits perfectly into the way I have written stories. No offense to us guys, but I had two goals: move my women readers, giving them a tangible experience through my story, and yet to still adhere to what was in my head, what turned me on. Porn could never do that for me.
I enjoy porn, but an erotic story gets me everytime!
both serve their place. while i prefer curling up with a sexy story, i'll watch porn if a quick boost is needed.

Say. Her. Name.

They each have their strengths and merits.
Stories to get warmed up and enjoy the feeling. Porn to go further and finish.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

I normally start with a good story and if I have more time I switch to porn
Erotic stories allow me to use my own imagination. Porn doesn't
erotic story....for sure!
