Ooo, hello Gav I have a question. If I'm in a room and my phone rings etc, I can't get back in even though I'm still there according to the names. Not even to log out of if the room is full, I'm directed to a different room. If I'm leaving, I'd rather not wait to be timed out or others leave so I can re enter and say bye. Thanks for reading x

Is this because you cant use your telephone line for data and voice at the same time? i.e. the Internet and a phone call. If so I have never heard of that broadband setup... is that right and what you are paying for from your broadband provider?

Hi John, thanks but no. I access lush via my mobile so I assume it’s similar to refreshing the page. Just a thought that an exit, (when you can’t get back in, already being in there and redirected) maybe helpful outside the room too. May save being timed out for inactivity, leaving others waiting at busy times or multiple room usage. I hardly use the rooms anymore but always felt rude when it happened x

Would it possible to stop people being in multiple rooms? So annoying when rooms are full and same name is in a few rooms ...one chatroom and whatever private rooms fine but not all the public rooms

As for private rooms, not that I use them , I'm far to innocent, but that dark background one needs a few light bulbs, picking a font kills the mood slightly , .....so I've heard .... I wouldn't know myself

A while back we did restrict access to just a single room for non-paying members in an effort to go some way to address the scenario you describe. The turnover in the rooms and in addition the removal of members in the rooms that are inactive means that, I believe, one doesnt have to wait very long to get into the room you have chosen.

If you upgrade to Gold membership you can access a room even when its full.

As for member created rooms you dont have to have the dark background... there is a list of background themes you can select from when you create the room.

Strange I seem to have seen you regularly in private rooms... I must be wrong... perhaps it was prettywild12345.

As something of a cell-phone-illiterate (it took me a while to understand the significance of 'brb' when it is signalled in a Chat Room, although I'd worked out 'btw' some time ago). please can The Great Gav list a handful of other useful chat room mnemonics (such as 'I desperately need to have a pee' or 'if I don't take the dog for its walk they'll be an accident' or 'Christ, I've just seen my landlord coming up the front garden path')?

*laughs* there really are not that many well known or perhaps more correctly documented ones on the Internet... some people make their own up I think.

I will see if I can produce a list and setup a thread in this forum which over time we can add too... should be fun. smile

There are occasions, typically following a disconnection with the server whilst in a chat room, when you leave but your name remains in the list of members in that room. However the inactive member process will, after 20 minutes I believe it is, remove your name from the room.

Yes its an old one and Gav is aware of it. When I dont reply to someone in a room they know me well enough to know that I am making a cup of tea. Perhaps your friends will assume the same.
Weaver of Words
I've asked this one before, but for the user created chat rooms, in addition to the various pic type backgrounds, and rather than just the few solid color options, could we get a color palette instead? And another thing I would like to see is the ability to add a pic to the welcoming message, so that people coming into the always see it at the top along with the room name. For instance, if I wanted to open a room, and call it Adele's Playroom, and would like the sign in my av to display at the top of the page to anyone entering the room, is there a way to do that?

Also, is there anywhere that explains how the boot option in the ladies room is supposed to work? Because as long as I have been a member here, i have rarely actually seen a person get booted. Let me give you what I think are a few of the issues. If it is a simple majority needed, that number constantly changes due to people coming and going. if a person votes to lick someone from a room, then leaves, does their vote still count? It is hard to get people coming into the room after the fact to vote, as they may not know what the infraction was. I am not sure if there is a solution since the room is not static. Also, at one time, the person being voted out could see the message saying so and so has voted to lick you from the room. Unless that has been fixed, somewhere along the line, that changed, everyone BUT the person being voted out could see the messages. So, unless someone tells the person, they have no idea people don't want them there.

the problem is it happens all the time. i go into a chat room and have to leave and leave the room but it still shows i am on. a friend comes in and messages me but because i am not actually there they think i am ignoring them. i have lost a few friends that way. now, if i have the time, i usually leave room but check to see who is in room and if it still shows me there i reenter the room and leave again, usally works second time but at times i have to leave in a hurry.

Here's what I do Ginger. I always leave the room by clicking on the door, top right corner. That will usually exit me properly. If you just close the chat window by clicking on the "x" on your browser, it most often leaves your name in the room. If I have been in the room a long time, sometimes even the chat door will leave you on the list. The only thing you can do in either case is re-enter the room and use the door right away. It will exit you properly at that point. The key is to use the door. Just closing your browser will leave your name on the list most of the time.

And if someone deletes you because you didn't respond to them in the room, that says more about them then it does you. You are better off without them.

Ginger, if someone doesn’t want to be around you any longer because something like that happens, which by the way is no fault of yours, then let them go. As Amy said, you are better off without them. I notice from your profile that you have a great many friends, so concentrate on them because they are the people that want to be with you. I’ve read many of your posts in various forums, and you seem like a very nice lady. I even had the pleasure of speaking with you once and came away thinking that there is a person anyone would be proud to call, ‘my friend.’

Amy, I couldn’t agree with you more. If one of my friends dropped me simply because I didn’t reply to them in a chat room when I really wasn’t there, then my response to them would be, ‘goodbye and good riddance’. Anyone that would do something like that isn’t a real friend anyway. It’s doubtful they even know the meaning of the word.
If you're feeling bored during this Covid-19 epidemic I’d like to suggest
you take a peek at a story I collaborated with SueBrasil, a brilliant author.
It's about a mistake in judgment a lady makes concerning a friend, based
on the hurtful words of someone that only thinks of himself. Will that
conniving person succeed in ruining a beautiful friendship, or will she see
through his lies? It's gradually creeping up towards the 30,000 mark
and we’d love any votes or hearing whatever comments you may wish
to make. It is listed in my profile under ‘FAVOURITES’ as Apologize.

The size varies but yes some are rather large. They are however scaled down to fit the room dimensions if required. On the odd occasion however one may slip through the net and in addition a bad link/url may distort the page.

For me and most of the people I talk to. The on thing we miss the most, is the block feature. Nothing like ruining you chat when someone you have no interest in keeps sending those annoying chat requests.  A block should keep them from knowing you are there.

We are aware the block feature here is not as comprehensive as it was on Lush V1 and the old platform. It’s on the 'to do' list but I have no idea of timescales. In the meantime just try and ignore those that you find irritating smile
