Honestly, in spite of what many have said on here, I strongly believe there is a 50/50 chance at worst that going there would turn out to be a good decision. No saying you should, just basically saying the wellmademale has a point, a very good point. Good luck whichever way you go ....

To be honest she probably knows more about him than anyone she would meet "in real life". How much do you girls actually know about the guys you have met at bars or parties or at the beach, etc?

To be honest the biggest risk she'll be taking is that she will waste a bunch of money and time traveling all the way from the UK and it will all just be a huge lame letdown. Who the hell would travel that far to go to texas? Lame.

I'll add that the fact that he is an ex-cop would make it more dangerous to me than other internet hookups actually. Cops and ex cops are the guys that beat their wives the most. They know the law and probably think they can get away with some shit.

curious if you followed through yet or not. I have had several girls say they would fly to Texas to meet me.. if i sent them the airfare first.
I offered to send one a ticket and she said no, she had to buy the ticket herself. I was not surprised they dont want to meet. but i never sent any cash either.

Texas is...Texas. There is no "registering" at any police station that I know of, in any state. So he's lying to you right there. As far as him being an ex-police officer, how did he become an ex-police officer? Sixty is not the retirement age for police officers, he either resigned or was forced to resign, neither of which bode well for his character. Please, consider your personal safety ahead of his wants.

Why not invite him to meet you on your home turf? If you are any way near serious about this, I could see that as giving you a lot of advantages with little downside.
