My husband prefers porn and has no interest in joining me here. I truly enjoy reading the stories and porn excite me in the least. What is your opinion of LushStories versus porn?
For me they each have their appeal. The stories on lush are 100 times more mentally pleasing due to a lot more background and story to them. Even some of the 'better' storylines in porn just don't compare to a good lush story.
As a visual person myself, porn does have the benefit in terms of having something to watch and admire the female form. So they are both big turn ons but one is a mental turn on and the other is more the visual.
The porn of my own mind. I enjoy writing stories and publishing them here, but there's only a few other authors I enjoy reading (a combination of writing style and my own sexual tastes). Even watching porn online, I end up fantasizing about the situation and characters, the seduction, getting lost in these imaginative worlds I create... which sometimes leads to writing it down.
Don't believe everything that you read.

Both have their place. I often get off to scenes in my head and reading or writing Lush stories hits that nerve nicely. However, like a lot of guys, I'm also very visual so watching a vid or looking at pics is part of my practice at times, too. Some of it is mood, some of it is what I have to work with at the time (I often have only my imagination).
Stories are definitely better than porn. The biggest sex organ we have is between our ears, and stimulating the imagination is the best way to get off... if you're not actually getting off with someone else. Even then sometimes.
I've seen more than my fair share of porn and the hardcore stuff that gets right down to the good bit, maybe with a brief interview with the starlet beforehand, is certainly the best to look at. But for me, the story that leads to two, or many many more people banging was missing.
And, oh my God, the pissweak porn where the performers furrow their brows and pout as they act there little hearts out is a real boner killer, to say nothing of the mediocre bash at it after.
Definitely the stories.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill.
Well, in some ways better than porn. Stories exercise the imagination...making the biggest sexual organ (the brain) work a bit (I think the OP's husband is missing out). Porn mostly is a more instant stimulus. I look on it as being the difference between fine dining (with a huge variety of different flavours to savour and enjoy), versus fast food. But sometimes, I just have a hankering for McDonald's
I'd not even seen any kind of porn until very recently, and it really didn't do much for me. Too fixated on the details--the awful blandness of the room, the stilted conversation, etc.--to actually enjoy watching the porn. Pretty sure I'll stick to reading well-written literary erotica, here or in print.

Sexier for sure. I think guys like porn and try to replicate it when they've got the courage to ask. But most women prefer sensual romance, we're all different though so it's unfair to generalise like I just have.
I enjoy the stories very much, enjoy naughty chats even more but cannot resist porn. Of course, sometimes porn is playing in the 'background' as I chat. That's really good.

Totally agree with Will about the imagination, although I still enjoy mature reality porn sites such as AllOver30. Reading a really good erotic story is a great prelude to a very enjoyable masturbation session, but writing stories is much much better, especially if you are doing it in collaboration with someone.
One of the things that's really cool about Lush is the way the stories replenish a guy's self-confidence. When I read stories or just jerk off using the 'ol Spank Bank, I am mentally and physically pleasuring myself. I am using the theater of my mind to get myself off. When you give up porn, it's fucking torture because you've programmed yourself ingest easily-accessible images that you don't create yourself. But once you begin to develop the ability to turn yourself on, you realize holy shit, I'm a sexy motherfucker. Then when you go out and talk to girls, the girl isn't competing with some coked-up porn star, she's being measured against your own internal standards. She senses an internal calm within you, you know you don't need her to make you feel sexy, and you actually get closer to fucking. And that's just it; my ultimate sexual goal is to fuck freaky hot chicks, not to jack off in my room all day. Lush helps me get there. Porn doesn't.
...also I live in Anaheim, CA so hit me up laaaaaaadies
I like the written word to get off but it takes a certain mood. It's a great addition to video porn but each are unique in their own right. Certain fantasies are best enjoyed through the imagination and monologue but others require the sight and sound in order to fully appreciate.
I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?
Both have their place and appeal, but I prefer lush. Porn is so manufactured and the lack of reality and stilted nature of porn puts me off it a bit. I prefer the arousal with real people on lush.
Porn is good for a quick tug, Lush is for a lascivious, amorous meander down Arousal Avenue, culminating at Ejaculation Boulevard.

I can fly
The show must go on.
For me, Lush is rapidly replacing porn as my stimulant of choice. Visuals can only take you so far - somehow, getting the mind of the character and knowing what they're feeling intimately is far more of a turn on. I guess at some point I'll return to the visuals, but at the moment I'm happier here.
Well, it's competition time again - so if you want to read an erotic poem about love, lust and heartbreak, check out I wanted more
Lush if better by a mile. Porn is so predictable and the Lush stories one can never predict the out cum just by the title. One must read the entire story and sometimes you are left with a cliff hanger that only a sequel, next chapter, or next part can cure.

Porn is great for a quick fix with visual stimulation, whereas Erotic writing can be so much more in the build up. The words create images in your mind and as we all know, its your mind that sends all the signals of sensation to your sex organs.
Somehow i find it kinda much more personal when a girl as wrote for the readers pleasure about things like, pulling her panties down and using her fingers to part her pussy lips and push her fingers into her wet juicy hole. Doesn't that just paint such a wonderful sexy image ???!!!. I know you will agree because from your comment about you enjoying reading the stories here, the words are working their magic on you and making your panties wetter as you read more and drink in the images. Am i right???
I liked porn. I used to see porn videos. After visiting Literotica - Illustrated - and then reading erotica here, I have developed liking for stories.
Stories normally has a theme and a plot. One gets tired of Porn over a long time.
So is true for stories. I used to read Parry Meson. Then I started reading James Hadley Chase. After few years - I started reading Jackie Collins. However I have liked Lady Chatterly's Lover more than once and has markings of pages that has erotic narrations.
Lush stopped being porn for me a long time ago. Porn is a voyeuristic snapshot meant to arouse and stimulate a fantasy. It has its place, but it is like eating candy. It has no substance.
For me, Lush is about relationships. Friends that I just enjoy talking to. It is about creativity and inspiration. It's about being able to discuss subjects in the forum with such solidly adult themes that they couldn't be discussed in other venues. So, no. I don't see lush as being porn. I see it as something unique. It's a community that has shed its fears of enjoying its hedonistic desires and is free of social judgment.
For me, I'm spending more & more time here on lush reading stories than ever before. Here recently I'll be on reading multiple stories until my mental (& physical) arousal must be sated, but I still need the audio & visual to finish. I've always been too shy & awkward to spend time in the chat rooms here.
Feel free to check out my newest attempts at writing with my series, A Teasing Journey.

I much prefer erotica (Lush) as it is easier for me to visualize it and BELIEVE it in my mind.Porn is just so fake.I do view it at times but spend much more time reading from the 3 sites that I frequent.
Better because I try to put my self into one of the characters. I can't do that with porn. I like how Lush lets us know the jist of the story with the category and tags. I can't envision me in stories that involves male bisex, whores, sluts, crossdressing, , cuckold unless I'm the alpha. Good with some lite femdom, lite BDSM, poems, MILF, straight. Put my creampie in the tag and you got me.

Porn has all the same endings and is pretty generic when it comes to the acting... The written word leaves so much more space to include emotion, feeling and thought... A great story will definitely put porn to shame in a heartbeat...
