I think this has opened the door to an interesting Lush ethics discussion topic so I started a thread in the crowd sourcing forum.

Actually it looks to me like a continuation of a Trinket-bashing thread. Same people posting the same opinions, just on another forum.

I have been on a few role-play dates, nothing to the extent of dinner and all. Just chatting about fantasies and any thing that comes to mind. Have masturbated with a few girls in chat. Mostly just general chat tho.

I would never discuss what went on with another person to someone else. Thats private.

Ladies please feel free to post your own experiences or thoughts with this, here.

Recently 2 of my online girl friends have told me their cyber-partners "date" them. I had never heard of this before. One girl told me her online partner would send her an email telling her where he would be taking her for their "date". Links to pics of where they would be having dinner etc might be included in that. They would then meet online at a specific time. I don't think either couple use webcam so the fantasy remains just that. . Both my friends told me it's the guy who plans all this.

Do any of you guys do this? If you do can you tell me why? I have been at lush for two and a half years and this is the first time I've heard of this.

If you would feel more comfortable sending me a PM with your post please do.

I AM NOT LOOKING FOR CYBER-DATES. Just sayin'.

This thread actually reminds me a bit of the Lush Marriage? Yes, No... thread. I really don't see why people are making a big fuss about this. Heck, in the other thread certain Lushies attended so-called friends' private weddings on Lush and then openly mocked them in the forums. I would and do find that more hurtful and more of a betrayal. And they're now offended by this one? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

As far as Lush dates, I/we have arranged times when we would be online together, so I guess it would be considered a "date," but no real role play. However, the Big Sammich thread is all make believe/role play parties, vacations, and sporting events. So I definitely get the role play thing.

Lush has always been a place where one could express one's desires, live out one's fantasies in a relatively safe way and, more importantly, ask the questions one wanted to ask. And why shouldn't it be?

I like the fact that I have been able to try out new things here, explore dark thoughts, sexy thoughts, find myself if you will, and meet myriad people with varying life experiences. I've learned a lot, a helluva lot.

I've cultivated friendships and relationships that I couldn't have imagined and you know, it was a wonderful escape when life was kicking my ass, a place where I could just get away for a while. And, just as in "real" life - there are politics and interaction. People get along, people argue blah blah. Some people are cool, some people are assholes, that's just the way it goes.

The whole date and cyber thing is an interesting subject though. We have this amazing virtual playground where we get to hang out with cool people, people from all over the world. I'd say that mostly THIS place is where the people get to hang out, so while they might like to meet up and hang out or go on a date in real life, generally for whatever reason, that's not usually possible. A way around that, a way to spend time with your pals or S.O.s here is to utilise the chat rooms, forums and BB or whatever. An obvious extension could be to make a "date" and why not add some virtual sparkle by sharing details of how you imagine a date "could" be? The places you might go, the sites you'd see, things you'd do etc?

Like CG said, that was kind of why we started the big sandwich forum thread - the idea was to throw a big party for our virtual chums, so we could all hang out together and have a laugh. Mind you, neither of us have had as much time to spend there of late, but real life can be a demanding beeyutch sometimes...

You know, if someone was taking the piss about BDSM or role play or crossdressing or whatever, then people would rightfully be upset. What's the difference

This is so true.
I'm quite jealous of those who can throw themselves into the whole roleplay fun. And they do have fun, a lot of it.
Am I reserved in real life? Yes, until I know you or the whole scene is anonymous. Then hold on to your hats, well at least when I was younger.
