Pretendy serious story - Anne Rice (who?)

Direct memory - Douglas Adams (I've actually heard of him)

My favourite story - Dan Brown (dammit)

Instructional story - James Joyce (heard of him, never read anything by him)

The one serious one I did - Anne Rice (yep, still nothing...)

Attempt to deliver something Lush readers might like - Anne Rice (I'm going to have to Google her)

Attempt to explore my sex story comfort zone - Chuck Palahniuk (who?)

Attempt to write about stuff I like with a gorgeous bloke in it - Edgar Allan Poe (but there were only gulls in it)

This is horribly addictive. And I still haven't done all my stories or started on my poetry yet.

What I would like to know is, if these people are famous, are they rich, and if so, can I be rich too, please?

Okay, Anne Rice and Chuck Palahniuk, I'm going to find out who the fudge you are, and why you're nicking my style (unless that's a bad thing, in which case, why are you contaminating me with your style?)...

When I put my Lindsey series in part by part, I got the following:
Part 1 - Chuck Palahunuik
Part 2 - Cory Docotrow
Part 3 - Ann Rice

When I put it in as a whole (which, btw is how I wrote it), I got Ann Rice again

Three other stories, The Eldi Sex Club, A Woman's Touch and A Different Kind of Encounter all came up with Ann Rice

One of my poems, The Unlikely Pair resulted in Robert Louis Stevenson

And a SciFi story I wrote which is posted on the blue site resulted in Douglas Adams.

Going to have to look up the last one, but the first two put me in pretty good company.

If you've never read any Douglas Adams, I strongly suggest that you try immersing yourself his books. Even if you don't like sci-fi. If a bit of perfect prose brings a smile to your lips, you can enjoy his work. I know people who don't like it - my Mum, for instance. But for some people, they read Douglas' words and have an epiphany. You could be one of them.

Well, I entered a couple of paragraphs of "Pride and Prejudice and Fucking" into the program, and it said I write like .... Jane Austen! So perhaps it's not so stupid after all.

Mind you, "Watersports with my girlfriend" was apparently like Cary Doctorow (who?) When I wrote that, I was reading Cormac McCarthy, and I actually think all the long sentences joined together with lots of "and"s came from him!

"Naughty girls on the beach" was Margaret Atwood! I may have to re-read "The Handmaid's Tale", because I think I missed the lesbian sex scenes in that...

Finally, "A Walk, a swim and a fuck" was JRR Tolkein, apparently. The mind boggles...

22 February 2024 - How about a quick plug for one of my filthiest recent stories? It's all in the title - Naked Pool Party Swingers | Lush Stories Please read, comment and maybe give it a ❤️ - or even a⭐ if you really enjoy it! Thank you! Annie xxx

Me, I don't need no fancy-pants program to know that, judging from the reactions of editors and agents all across this country, I write like a bunch of other unpublished novelist. sad

I got Chuck Palanhiuk on every attempt larger than a couple of sentences. I wouldn't liken myself to him at all, but then I've only read a couple of his. Also only tried it with my erotic fiction, which does own a somewhat different voice than my other prose fiction, which is certainly different from my stage or screen voices.
