I'm pretty good at crafting the stories.

That is a massive understatement! You're amazing at crafting stories.

I lack the erotic incitement that others possess in abundance, it seems.

No.

I get what I get... We all have our little hopes and desires here, past the internal satisfaction of creation... It's very rare to see a name that isn't one of a handful of extremely kind friends anymore.

I have some thoughts on this, Kis, but would get lynched if I stated them publicly. PM me?

GrushaVashnadze's best stories:

Alison Goes to London (RR) - "love this... fun, and funny, and sexy" (sprite)

The Cursed Cunt (RR) - "holyyyyy sheeeiiit.... Your writing is fucking fantastic" (CarltonStJames)

A Worthless Filthy Fucking Smoking Trash Cunt Whore (RR) - "Brilliantly done. Of course." (naughtyannie)

Snow White and the Seven Dildos (RR) - "Fuck. It's perfect.... honestly genius and so fucking well executed." (VioletVixen)

Metamorphoses (RR) - "so imaginative and entertaining" (saucymh)

And There Came Two Angels to Sodom - "What a deliciously worded story! So juicy, so raunchy" (el_henke)

Fuck-Talk (with VioletVixen) - "Jeez. I feel rendered wordless by how much clever fucking fun this is" (Jaymal)

Anyone ever post a story expecting it to be received really well, (relative to your other works) only to see it bomb. Or post one you don't think is your best work and see people praise the hell out of it?

often, yes.

Not really. I have no expectations except for me. If my stories are well-liked, that's just a plus.

Did at first. Spoiled I guess by my first story earning a "Famous Story" badge in less than a month. Led me to believe I was a much better writer than I am. Learned a lot since then. Haven't written much since everything has started opening up. Work has ramped up tremendously and that, combined with a one-year-old daughter, doesn't leave much time for writing or reading. Hope to get back to writing again, but it will be for me rather than any expectations.

Its funny how some stories you don't think will be received that well do better than others.

Wouldn't you rather have a nice cup of tea?

If you have a creative vision pursue it and reader response be damned. As others mentioned, I write for myself primarily, and I tend to be my own barometer of whether a story is successful (i.e. do I like it?). When I publish, it's like setting stories free to wander around and find their own audience, but I don't really hold any expectations. The readers who resonate with my work will find it, and those that don't have plenty of other options for entertainment on this site.

Don't believe everything that you read.

All writers face this sooner or later. If you're used to get 100+ likes and one of your stories only fetch 32, you'll start wondering what went wrong, while the writer who rarely gets to double digits will feel ecstatic upon hitting 20+. If I recall correctly, my first story on my former account stood at a score of 29. All my 20-odd subsequent stories scored lower, usually much lower, although the quality of my written English was improving. Go figure!

Under my new account, I only have one story right now; it's an old story that isn't faring as well as it did when I first entered it in "Le Noir Érotique" ... and I've improved both the language and the sex scenes. This time around, it does not benefit from the same exposure it first did as a competition entry. The story is not intrinsincally worse. Yet it is right now in the popular stories in "Historical" and I'm convinced that some readers will love it as it has elements that set it apart as absolutely one-of-a-kind. I don't know any other piece of written erotica where the main character is an olympic weightlifter, and the story is set in Paris, 1946... and the lifter is French Canadian like myself in real life.

Since I value moderators and their time, I will resubmit my old stories very, very sparingly. Right now I'm having fun writing a story where a 16-year-old lad meets a young woman named Audrey Hepburn in Rome, 1953 and oh, so sadly loses his virginity to her! I'm expecting a big fat nothing out of this original story.

Just a note. If that's for lush you will need to change the name, thanks.

I have been pleasantly surprised and pleased by my new piece. Score of 41, most ever for one of my stories under this scoring system. I mean, I think it is a good story but I haven't had one rack up likes and favorites at this pace before so it seems to have struck a chord.

Apes can talk dirty, too. Here's my entry in the "Dirty Talk" competition. Read it and let me know what you think. A virgin student gets a special present from his female housemate.

Sure, the ratings are surprising sometimes. I’ve had a few stories get more popular than I might have expected (and I have one that is more than halfway to the Famous mark). But I seem to have a few readers following my writing now, which helps ensure more exposure for the new ones I publish.

I do also have a few stories here and there that I think might deserve more attention, especially the Contagion series I wrote fairly quickly during the COVID lockdowns (and which, unusually for me, has no male bisexuality in it). But I just reread it, and found myself pleased with how well it has held up.

Just goes to show what many others have said: write for yourself, be true to yourself, and let the ratings fall where they may.

I get dicked by a federal agent. My top-ten Noir competition entry: Dick Job

My alliteration-addled Free Sprit competition entry: Buff Bluff in Banff

For me, this is a truism that I've accepted along with such things as water is wet, and, guys always want to cum on my ass. Some of my favorite, best-written works are received with yawns and disinterest while ones that I feel are lackluster get standing ovations. I think, at least in part, this is due to me, as a writer, taking note of things the readers don't care about. The typical reader doesn't care if I should have used a semi-colon instead of the em dash, or if I already used the phrase "rock-hard man flesh" two paragraphs ago. They want a compelling story that they can lose themselves in, that is well-written, flows like my pussy juice, and enthralls as much as it entertains. It's only natural that I'm focused on increasing my meager skills and turning a phrase better whilst my readers (thank you, I love you all 😊) want to read.
I have no control over what others think, but I'm more than grateful that a lot of my stuff is well-received. For the works that aren't, so be it.

I write impulsively and the result is usually representative of that lack of foresight. The diminishing number of readers is sufficient to cause me to reconsider this endeavor. Given this is a sex site and I write really crappy sex scenes should be indicative of something...start reading more than writing.

Yes to the former, quite a few times (to be fair, I'm somewhat delusional); to the latter, no, that's not happened. As Kimmi says, you must write for yourself ultimately. It can be a lonely dance, so you must satisfy 'you' first and foremost.

I have never read a single thing you have written that did not appeal to me on some level. Your skill and creativity are impeccable. Know that when you write there will be one person other than yourself who will truly appreciate the result.

It be like that sometimes. Even professional writers have these feelings. Steven King has books he doesn't like, one being Maximum Overdrive, I think, but people love it and the movie is a cult classic. The way I see it; regardless of why you write and how you feel, it's success is truely determined by the sudience, like any song, movie, comedian, tv show, these things are media and you feeling something is absolute trash or a masterpiece has nothing to do with what the audience feels about it and they're the ones that are the real judges of it and majority wins in popularity contest. That's something we see everywhere in everything, media audience driven, or otherwise. I have stories I don't like and I see that there are people that like them. I'm happy somebody does, it means it's not an utter failure.
