What other types of stories do you guys write in real life? Funnily enough, i really enjoy writing for children (probably because i'm a kid at heart) and some of my better writing isn't actually erotica but funny little short stories.
What sort of non-sexual things do you like to write about??
I do write non-erotica. I find it just as relaxing and just as therapeutic as writing erotica. I have a profile on Lush's sister site, storiesspace.com, and I have a couple there as well. I got very good reviews from them as well.

I'll be honest though, erotica is very much my liking, but non-erotica can be be just as wonderful as well.

I love writing, most of my other stories I've written are about fantasy and fiction. I think
it would be great to fly or have some great thing you're destined to do like save a million
people by preventing another dimension from killing our earth. It's so fun, you can do whatever
you want in writing and story telling smile
About 95%, if not more, of my writing is non-erotica. I tend to try and write in many different genres, but a majority of of my stories are romantic teen-fiction. I guess that's what I do best.

I've heard this site is good for non-erotic stories, if you're interested in getting them published online.

I write a lot of things, mainly speculative fiction (i.e sci/fi, fantasy, paranormal, supernatural etc), often with a romantic element, but also other genres (anything from silly kids stories to sappy poetry to dark horror, anything really). My erotic writing has been confined to short stories, while I have written (or at least started) a number of non-erotic novels.

I'm on Stories Space as MissAdventure.
This site got me the approval and support I needed to take the other ideas seriously and work on them. Currently, taking Kristi and I Begin to it's final chapters of an actual novel. I've also got half a dozen others rolling along. And a few good n' dirty little bits percolating in my brain.

On storiesspace, Lush is referred to as "the other site". True story.

I write almost exclusively non-erotica. I've only written erotica as a challenge.
I write all kinds of things, from essays to short comedies. I love letting my imagination go wild and I like doing research on a topic and really busting it wide open.

LOL! I wonder which lovely woman that could be, Nicola....???
Yes. Business reports and proposals.
Word has it some of the stuff I've posted here at Lush ain't too erotic. smile

Truth be told, I've finished two non-erotic (and non-published) novels, one a love story the other a coming-of-age. There's also been both erotic and non-erotic short stories. Some of them even made me a nickle or two.

Writing is writing. It's good to try your hand at both. And yes, Story Space is a good site to work on your writing.

Yes, fiction and fantasy.
I have written short stories for children since I was 14. I started writing sex stories 4months ago.
I wrote a textbook on Computer Security some years ago, but now it is out of date and out of print.

Well said, in all respects.

I quite like the new site. I feel that as there is no expectation of sexual content my poems wll perhaps be more accepted by the casual reader.

I love writing erotica but it may not be what I am best suited for. Time will tell.
i don't write stories but I do write poetry
as i have stated on my profile i have written two novels.hope to publish one soon.
Writing erotica is an emotional release for me, especially when I'm in full out editing or marketing mode for my other stuff. For me anyways, the erotica stories tend to be shorter; thus easier to manage and pick up intermittently when I need a break from the other stuff, because if I don't engage the creative part of my brain at least once a day... I get a little cranky!

I do and I don't. Most, if not all of my stories have sex in it. But sometimes the sex makes up a very small portion of the writing. I like a lot of plot heavy stuff as well with a lot of context surrounding the sexy stuff. I write a lot of fantasy, and I'd say about 1/8th of it is sex? But when the sex does come up, I find it all the more arousing because of the plot.

I rarely finish anything without any sex in it, though.
It should be noted that the StoriesSpace has kids on it... thus be careful.

Lol...I'll suggest to Lisa we put in a daycare center to watch the kiddies...

Just a reminder, I believe there's still three days left to get your contest entries in over there...

Try to get them in early so Lisa and Yas have time to read them all and pick a winner...just saying...

I also write non-fiction. I was published while in college, in the annual Supplement to the Maryland Geological Survey, and I have been published in the publications of the Maryland Historical Society and the Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Historical Society. I am currently working on another article for them, having to do with the constuction of my great-grandfather's house in Longmeadow. Next Summer, I hope to finish the research to write an article about the Longmeadow Historical Society's clock collection, to be published next Fall, in both their newsletter, and in the Bulletin of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.

In my day job, I am a licensed professional civil engineer, so I often do technical writing, both for "in house" training of junior designers, and to provide job construction specifications.

I mostly write fiction with erotica within in.

I like lots of plot and reason behind my sex, for the most part.

I also write non-fiction for my blog about gaming, feminism, media, sex workers, and writing.
I am currently working on a very sad story for self publishing. There will be romance in it, though it will not be erotica. Most of my stories are a bit more toned down than what I post here, even though I do tend to stick with romance in general. Here it is just fun to let go a bit and it is an easy write for me. It's good practice with emotions and intensity.
