Yes, I still play a lot of older games. I haven't played the PS4 yet, but I will soon. I guess that means that it's not always the graphics and all that, it's the great time you had playing them. GTA III rules.

The oldest console wise I still play is the ps2 because it's the only console I have left. PC wise I've got quite a few old games left to play. (Most notably, Myst, System Shock 2 and Deus Ex)

Not sure if they have that game, but they do a marvelous job of obtaining the rights to distribute even ancient PC games, and they get them working with the best possible patches on virtually any modern system. Also very affordable.
The last new game I played was Dragon Quest 9. Since then I've played Neverwinter Nights 1&2 and Might and Magic 6-8.
I replay old games in at least a 4 to 1 ratio over new ones.

I LOVE GOG! Steam is good, too. You can get a great deal on classic bundles. Installation is seamless and they work great! I recently purchased The Secret of Monkey Island, well (ahem) she bought it for me.
Other than that, I still enjoy NES and SNES. I don't play much, though, as real life is somewhat more entertaining.

Steam's starting to build up quite the collection of old stuff, most of it optimized for for modern OS use. Fallout 1 and 2, System Shock 2, etc. It's all also very cheap even when it's not on sale.

Also @iamhereinthestateofo be glad your atari burnt out. If it was the 7200 or before, due to the increase in power going to TVs and from outlets, the system and TV could explode, unless it had been heavily doctored.

I know this is something of an older thread but I wanted to post anyways.
Unfortunately I primarily play RPG and RTS games on both console and PC, and I have found that both of these genres tend to age poorly, though for different reasons. I can't tell you how many times I've busted out an older game with stars of nostalgia in my eyes only to find that the intervening years seem to have worn off the magic from games which I enjoyed so much when they were new.
I find that RPG games tend to get dated just because of how much the genre has moved foreword in the past number of years, improvements in game design theories, as well as things like engines and AI have simply made the older games feel obsolete. If you don't believe me try playing Skyrim for a few hours and then go back to Morrowind where at the start of the game your skills are all low enough that you will likely struggle to hit (let alone kill) even basic enemies with your weapons, I find these nostalgia shattering realizations to be really disappointing when I come across them. Especially when I still think that the older game would be a better game if it were made with contemporary technology. That said I do think that certain games in this genre hold up excellently, for a great example of that just go back and play Bauldurs Gate II (or the recently made enhanced version).
With RTS games I think it just comes down to AI, they are still a blast to play with friends, but their AI opponents are often so limited that they can really affect how much fun you have. Modern AI in games has really spoiled me when it comes to games like this.

I found my old Gameboy SP and it had Mario Tennis in it! What I always miss is playing Super Smash Bros Melee on the GameCube with my brothers though.
